I talked to Derek this morning. If it’s not too out of my place to update, she is doing well. No serious injuries, just a bad concussion that kept her going in and out of consciousness. They had to sedate her for a bit to get her to calm down. They Should be leaving the hospital today. That is one tough girl they’ve got.

Thanks for your concern guys. She is recovering pretty well. She finally got her neck brace off and cleared for food and water. The poor kid has had a mouth full of sand for over 12 hours now!

This one probably should have ended much worse! I felt an overwhelming relief knowing she wears all the best gear available and it likely paid for itself yesterday.

I am constantly reminded how lucky I am to be surrounded by great friends and family. Thanks to all of you who bring joy to my life even when the times are tough.

I’m waffling a bit on this. I really need to get back into riding so I told myself I’d race UMORA this year. But my 2 worst riding conditions are MX, and sand tracks! 🤦‍♂️

For now I’m a solid, possibly…

Remember the last Desert race that was a sand track you raced and got FIRST PLACE!
LET'S GO!!!

I have stickers for those of you that show up. And for Derek, the off road course will be groomed and watered so it is a perfect warm up race.

I wasn’t planning on it, but could be persuaded if the right people are there.

You being the right people.
I'd love to go but I have 2 jackets to pick up at the usra banquet. Give em hell for me boys.
I am camping but I might not be cool enough since I am retired now.

@glockman just have them bring them to the race in 2 weeks.......if Clark County issues the permit. Racing your first expert race on a fun off road course is better for your ego than standing on a stage.😂

That will earn you a protest in the USRA if somebody knows you are doing that

You made me stay up all night thinking.
In reality, I am barely even up to par with the amateur guys. I joined the expert more as an experiment to see if it would help my skills increase being with the faster guys, because it really made a difference going from novice to amateur.
But truth is, especially on a course like this week, I will probably be in the way of a lot of fast guys, making it unsafe for them and me.
I imagine I can change my class to amateur at sign ups before the race?
