I just ordered the Bak X4s. On the website its got the annoying chat now thing with a banner tell you to ask for "hidden discounts". I hate that kind of thing but did it and the guy is giving me an additional $110 discount.

I like that its a "hard" cover and youtube seems to think its a pretty decent one. The one complaint is that in the winter when things freeze it might be hard to roll it. Same idea to what @xj_nate said earlier. Thinking about that and my situation I feel that I should be alright. I park in my home garage which is insulated well and it hasn't really gotten below 45-50 and I use an underground parking garage at work.

The trade off to having a folder obstruct the rear view when opened vs dealing with a potentially frozen top seemed worth it to me.

I bought a cheap vinyl roll up off Amazon for my cover. For the money I feel it is the best overall value. I think it was $170 and has held up fine for 6 years now, although last year I did have the velcro restitched down the side. It doesn't seal amazing at the tailgate, but it does well enough.

I looked at others back then and couldn't justify the extra few hundred $ for others. I did go with the vinyl roll up for most of the reasons posted. It allows full use of the bed without blocking the view.....it's been great and I feel for the $ it can't really be beat.

I like that it has slats in it. I've never seen that before- probably because I've never looked at them.

Maybe I'm weird but I've never been bugged by my folding cover blocking the rear window. I have mirrors and a back-up cam. Regardless I'm sure you'll love having a cover as it really makes for usable space, like an SUV has. My buddy makes fun of mine and calls it a minivan conversion lol

Kind of ridiculous but it arrived this morning. It installed easy but the pass side is latching and hovering 1/8" higher than the driver side so its not touching or sealing against the tailgate. I double check the clamps and they are tight and I pushed down from above as much as I could (per the instructions). It doesn't look like the rail is bent so I'm not sure what the deal is.

Can you let me know which one this was? Sounds like it lasted great for the money.
