If there is slag, you drag, otherwise you risk pushing the slag down into the weld. Flux core runs hotter than gas-shielded which helps give a smaller welder a little more oomph. Another common issue when learning to weld is moving too fast. Learn to watch the puddle, keep your stickout short...

So for those of you that tried my brisket, how did it compare to cooking brisket on a pellet grill? It's a huge difference in effort, but I think what you tried was some of the best brisket I've ever made and far better than I've ever done on a pellet grill.
