it was fun out there! broke my idler arm early and had to make a run to the parts store. lots of fun after that. it was really busy out there today, lots of rigs to watch.
the hustler looks good, basically the look i was going for. i didnt have any plans on a fiberglass one. i just read about a guy getting about five miles of range out of it. is that good or not very?
i want to go with the fender/ hood mounts so i can keep them attached year round. magnetic mounts are cool when you only want them on for a trail. plus i like the look of the fender/ hood mounted ones. thanks for the help though. just not quite the direction i was looking at.
So i ended up buying and installing a uniden 538W in my truck. i tryed to install an antenna i got from raidio shack, but it was an epic fail. looks like they sold me a scanner antenna. aperrently thats different. so i returned it and have realized they dont know any more than i do about them...
I totally agree, and understand that there is a higher chance of breakage due to the leverage issue on a body mount and bolt. I just haven't seen one on normal driving on or off road. I have had my 2' body lift on since 06' and I have USED this truck! She has been around if you know what i'm...
I have seen both stock and body lift bolt break. Both occurrences were the operators fault, and could have been avoided with a simple lack off stupidity. lol
well played on the weight of the cab issue, i have never taken into consideration people in the cab, tools, coolers ect. that makes sense. New info = good. I'd be curious to see an actual weigh in of a loaded cab vs chassis.
I second that for sure! way bad ass. but a ton of work! lol do you have any finished product photos of that floor board? i actually haven't ever seen anyone go to that extent before. way cool!
see that's what this tread is about not to argue, but simply to share knowledge and info. This is good...
