Looking at a half ton trucks. I hadn't read up on them much because I wasn't in a huge hurry to sell the lx but for whatever reason listed it while I was waiting for my son to get out of school. My phone blew up all yesterday and today asking about it. Guess I should have asked for more money.

I was going through the Ecoboost thread last night and it kind of scared me away from them. An f150 would have been my preference I guess. A neighbor has a '20 GMC that I poked around earlier today. He's getting like 22 mpg mixed which appeals to me. It's got the 5.3 in it. After that I found a few gmc's on ksl.

I kind of need to decide how much I want (and can afford) to spend then zero in. I'm inclined to get something used but nothing that's been modified. I don't want or need a leveling kit or bigger tires. Likely 2015+, maybe 2018+.

I've been busy all day but just found a free minute and was about to search here to see if there was any threads on them. I'm not really a truck guy so it's new territory.

It's not going to anyone here despite getting a few messages. A guy in Provo texted like 3 minutes after it posted. He said he had owner a gx previously and knew the lingo.

I've decided if he flakes I'm going to keep his deposit and then jack the price and relist it. 😁.

TRD270's is not an ecoboost. It's the 5.0 Coyote V8.

I worked a deal with the white GMC I drove on Saturday. Its a fair price and in better condition than my small children deserve but it will be nice to have a truck. Just waiting on a couple things for the bank but I think this will land in my driveway in the next couple days.

I've learned that "kick mats" are a thing and will likely buy a set to keep my kids grimy feet off the back of the front seats. Based on the look of the seats in my wifes new Camry telling them to keep their feet on the floor isn't enough. We'll see what else goes in.

I appreciate what I was able to read here while trying to figure out a vehicle and thank you all for your knowledge and willingness to share your personal experiences and opinions.

When we got my wife a new car years back we found an inexpensive cover for the back seat from Amazon. It's nothing special but I would HIGHLY recommend one to anyone with kids younger than like 12. I also bought one for the Tacoma when I leased it back in 2020 and when I sold the truck about a month ago the back seat looked new, except for all of the crumbs that fell through the seat belt cracks.

Yeah. My wife's SUV has enough crumb accumulation under the seats that I can't get to that its starting to form a real nice layer of topsoil for some future owner to discover. Kids are the worst a blessing from the Lord.

I really need to pull the seats in both vehicles and go to town with a steam vacuum. It's nasty back there.

For back of seats. My wife bought seat organizers. This way the seats are protected and the kids have a place to store all the crap rhe always want to bring along

Sell the kids, buy more Jeeps.
Just beat them more often and they listen when you speak.
I am baffled when people allow their kids to destroy things that cost tens of thousands of dollars. I watched a friend of my 12 year old son drag a bike handlebar down the side of a 6 month old Expedition Platinum. I can't even. A couple grand damage because your kid doesn't care at all about your labor. I'd have lost my mind.

Ditto, they need to learn to take care of what they/you have.
