The more the years go by, the more I am humbled by the strength of character and the perseverance of that generation.
Especially when you think about all these snowflakes we’re surrounded by nowadays
Our neighborhood has done a 50 mile backpacking trip every 2 years for about the last 30. They make a bid deal of it, party and food at the end of the 6 day hike. Families come up to the trail end to welcome them back, etc.
This year it became about 10 miles with a base camp and day hikes.
I blame the boys. But I also blame the dads. I’m definitely too soft on my kids, and it shows.
I’m not saying I’m not softer than 2 ply. But my hell so many people make me feel like I’m 80 grit, and I’m not.
