First, on your initial comment… I feel the same way, like all my neighbors are judging me… they’ve all got big $40k+ awnings. Oh well, they can eat 💩 if they don’t like my sails!

I’ve got lag eye bolts and the screw on anchors. Also I’ve had a few 1/4” Amazon quick links pull apart in big wind storms (or when it random snows like a couple weeks ago). I’ve been replacing with 1/4” d-shackles.
The thought of spending $40k on an awning makes me sick.

Remember how I said my backyard gets really hot? The barbecue is under the shade sails for much of the day, but sometime in the early afternoon it gets hit by the sun again. This is how hot the thermometer was when I pulled it out to use it today.

Sounds like free energy, you can cook low and slow without having to pay for pellets or propane. 😎
