Lunch time job.
New All Balls fuel pump in and swapped in longer hoses for the big tank. I'd have honestly preferred an OEM pump but they only sell it as an assembly and it's like $400+ 😲
And this was $74...
It's a bear to work with the FI hose! I finally warmed it up with a heat gun and that seems to be the only way to fit it over the barb fittings.
Honestly I might have come out ahead in frustration to spend the extra $ and get the complete TUSK assembly with the longer hoses & just slide that in.

Fishing the pump and hose assembly through the tank however was still a bit of a faff, but easier since this was the 4th time...

It just looks right with the bigger tank. 🤩

I’m sure the cosmetics are only a small part of the work you did on this, but I LOVE it. I vote no graphics.

(This is just a note for me)
So I finally got around to changing the front sprocket.
OEM is 14-51 (3.64)
Turns out someone had already swapped the front to a 13 (I didn't know this) so it was already low (3.92)
I swapped a 53 thinking I'd make it a little easier for her to climb stuff, this made it super low (4.076)
I bought a 14 thinking I'd be a straight swap.
But it turns out it'll gear it down a lot (numerically) from her initial test ride.
14-53 (3.7857)

Hopefully this will be a good compromise of a little extra climbing ability over stock and less jumpy right off throttle for her.

The other thing I did was back the tension off on the throttle cable so it has a little more Freeplay. This should also help the jumpiness she's felt just at the beginning of throttle take-up.

She did OK on the steep downhill chunky stuff. Everywhere else including climbs: great!

I learned the Motocross bikes have a shorter brake pedal tip so she's having a little trouble finding the brake pedal with the extra width of the clutch cover....so I've got a wider pedal tip on order.

Rode it around the block immediately before and after: seems like it is definitely smoother and more tractable and harder to stall. I could roll off from a start in 5th.
That should be a nice addition for her. I heard that clutch weights were less effective than flywheel weights so you had to have a heavier unit. I’ll be curious to see how you feel about it after some riding.

That's interesting 🤔 I guess I'll have to give that a think but I could see that perhaps.
Mostly I got it because it was like 1/5 the cost of a Steahly flywheel weight and I can swap it on and off in 95 seconds. And that's cheap enough to see if it will help or if I want to get her a rekluse and purchase 7% more performance.

She really did so well on that TE 300 in Costa Rica and she just LOVED it so much ....that at one point I thought, "I aught to sell her 250 4t and bite the bullet and get her a 300 2t."
