Hey, at this point I am hoping some of you guys may be able to help a bit, I am a car guy, I love tinkering on cars, and I've recently rebuilt an old 1967 cj5 with a 225 cui dauntless v6 odd fire engine. I've rebuilt everything with new gaskets new piston rings, new pistons, and I've put on a new starter motor, solenoid, ignition coil, a brand new distributer cap and spark plugs.
The engine will turn, but the spark plugs have no spark, I'm not sure if maybe it is a bad grounding wire or really even what needs to happen to get it running but I've worked on it for about 2 years now restoring it, and I've lost hope a bit

I am pretty sure it's a points distributor, but I am not entirely sure

Do you have a pic?

I'd be testing for power at the coil, while cranking. Sometimes depending on where you're getting power from, the voltage will drop or cut while cranking. Also, check the ballast resistor and make sure it's functioning as it should.

If you have a points distributor, replacing it with HEI is a huge upgrade in terms of voltage at the plug, simplicity and reliability. I love HEI vs points.

I don't have a pic currently, but I can go get one when I go out to my shop next
