Made a round trip from Moab to Evanston today to pick up some equipment from the old house. These pictures are from the mountain across from the Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon.

We only have 3 more years of it and we'll miss it too. It's a lot more fun when they are winning but hopefully it makes them winners.

Some of the things I most liked about cross country is the fact that no one is trying to stop the runner from doing their best and how happy a lot of the kids are to simply do their personal best, even if far from the front of the pack.
Of course, my daughter being top three in state (3A) was very fun as well.

Had some excitement on Wolf Creek Pass today. Three different dually 4x4 trucks were ahead of me going over the pass from the Pagosa side. Non of the trucks had put their chains on, so the circus acts ensued right in front of me. This action all took place just before the last runaway truck ramp. The CHP officer was not amused.

I don't often put chains on, I'm far too manly for that sort of thing. But I think if I were hauling a load like that through conditions like that I'd probably make an exception.

Reading some of the history of that rock is interesting. It really had nothing to do with the actual boat landing, it appeared over 100 years after the landing. It's been moved several times, broken and repaired, and the "1620" inscription happened in something like 1925. 😅

Glenwood Springs. Wife gets to attend lectures while the kid and I get to enjoy a mini vacation in one of our favorite towns. Hot springs swimming tomorrow. Wife’s work even paid to put us up in the Hotel Colorado. 😎
