Have you seen Hill People Gear? No personal experience but a couple friends have their chest rig and love them.

I was looking at kenai's and alaskan's last year. A lot depends on what pistol you want to use it for as a bunch are universal, which I don't like

this one looked sweet. I wanted one that had the snap strap as there were a bunch of stories about guys loosing the pistol in the thick brush. A
lot of the holsters don't have much retention

Looking for something to hike with.

Anyone use Black Point Tactical?
That looks like a not quite as good copy of the Gunfighters inc. Kenai. I have the Kenai for a 7-1/2" 44 Mag S&W N frame revolver and it works very well. It's a big revolver but with the angle it just barely fits. Cylinder is right in my sternum. No major excess movement and draws cleanly.

I popped a holster to go below my bino harness for my P365. First the Marsupial (which I still need to sell if anyone is looking) and now a Kifaru. That also works well for the smaller gun and makes using the binos much easier. I'll try to find a pic.

I've worn both under pack straps and the Kenai under binos. The revolver is more difficult to deal with but that's size of gun not the holster. Integrated to the chest pack is cleaner if you want both and the gun is small enough but I haven't seen one in production I like.

Let me know if I can clarify anything.

@cruiseroutfit if you want to try on this Kenai I'm in Hyde Park.

I wouldn't want anything to do with that for several reasons. If you're carrying it for bears, draw will be MUCH slower than a kydex that fits. Retention isn't a problem if it fits correctly. A properly fitted kydex holster snaps securely in and can be adjusted if need be. That rig won't position as well and will be more bulky and less secure/more "floppy" for lack of a better word. The shell loops will almost certainly interfere with pack and chest pack straps even empty. You can get loops for the Kenai which I have and don't use. They go on the lower straps. I probably would if I didn't have somewhere else for the shells.

Look at how the Kenai uses a 2" upper strap sewn in, not on a ring. It makes a difference.

FWIW I carry my revolver higher than that.

Seems like a lot ($104) for an uncle mikes holster and some webbing.

I also have the Kenai that I picked up for carrying while mtn biking a little deeper in the woods... I then moved to where the good mtn bike trails are further away and haven't used it much. I do like the quality of the holster.

Here's my bino/chest harness holster on the Marsupial. Any bigger than the P365 I think you would want additional retention back so it didn't swing. There's a little but probably not worth the strap as is. What gun are you wanting to carry @cruiseroutfit ?
