.... they would probably close the trail to limited personel during the comp.

Not happening. The Toyota Landcruiser Association is holding their annual Cruise-Moab event the same weekend of the first scheduled competition.. The TLCA has scheduled with the BLM to hold runs on the Moab Rim Trail on all Thurs, Fri, Saturday. I can't imagine the BLM would allow him to close down a public right-of -way through his property becasue of an event he is holding. I can already forsee alot of angree bikers and hikers cause of this one...

cruiser brings up a good point.....what about portajohns....

there is no way they can get enough portajohns up there in an efficient and cost effective manner.

there would be no money left for the purse just dealing with the logistics.

I think having a comp in Moab is a great idea, and I hope it happens, but he has really got his work cut out for him.

a fleet of mogs could handle the logistics....timely no but they could get everything up there and back. you would have to start a day early and employ about 50 mogs....:)

I was under the impression that it can only be accessed by The Moab Rim Trail... Even if Pritchett would intersect it, iot would be a long drive...

I think it is a great place to play, but to hold comps.. I dunno...

my friend in the east offroad club with the bummer, ya remember him? his dad and the owner are friends, and are trying to plan this whole thing. he was telling me about it last week. it's sounds kinda cool, just not realistic.

Yeah, the guy that spanked Hummer/GM in a wheel-off...:D

If he has anything to do with it, I am even more skeptical...;)

Pulled this one out of the well...

As it turns out, the comps didn't due to well, nor did the owners business... It was lost and bought by the Nature Conservancy. Thankfully with the help of heroes like Freinds for 4 Wheelin and RR4W they are allowing motorized recration to continue ONLY on the trail.. keep that in mind next time you are running Moab Rim, respect the new owners wishes...
