    Box Rocket 1995 FZJ80 Build

Finished up the sliders over the weekend. Not many people use the Trail Gear sliders, but I ran a set on my old '93 for years and was very impressed with them and how well they've held up. As will any slider, proper gussets at the frame are key to keep them from flexing. There is some...

Shouldn't have any problems either way. Typically straight triangulation is stronger than one with any kind of corner/joint in it but it will still be fine the way you have it drawn.

Yeah I got mine almost 8 years ago so it doesn't surprise me that the price has gone up a bit. As for brakes? They'd be nice but I've never felt like I needed them on my trailer. The only time I've ever had any sketchy behavior from the trailer was coming down a fairly steep section of the...

    Box Rocket 1995 FZJ80 Build

**Prinsu Design Roofrack teaser.** I can't begin to describe how freakin cool this rack is going to be. Zach Scott is doing a fantastic job with it. We test fit the very first set of 80 Series rails on my truck today. *Don't mind the backward TEQ" , the guys that laser cut it forgot to flip...

Official Will An Off-Road Trailer Work For Me? The Off-Road Trailer Conundrum

I do a few things. I'm using some inexpensive bins from Walmart for most of the food items and some other gear. Like these: These bins are sturdy and nest nicely so you can stack them and they'll stay put. These bins actually do a pretty good job of keeping must crap out. But I also used...

This. I've always had Toyota wheels on my trailer so I never ran into hub clearance issues. .

Definitely NOT overkill if it's to be used offroad. There are many cases of trailers this size using smaller 2000# axles breaking spindles and bending the smaller tubes. While the trailer may not ever have that kind of load in it, if you use it in rough terrain, and especially at a decent rate...

    Box Rocket 1995 FZJ80 Build

I like the Ultragauge a lot. The larger display is nice compared to a scanguage. It's much easier to read at a glance and there are tons of "gauges" to choose from for what you want to display. Reads/clears codes and all the other features you'd expect. My one complaint is that it does not...

    Box Rocket Offroad Trailer Build

I guess you could have some clearance issues with the dust cap if you want to run the center caps on the 80 wheels. I have never run the center caps so I can't tell you whether or not that will be a problem. But a hole saw to cut the center of the center cap for the dust cap to poke through...

    Box Rocket 1995 FZJ80 Build

I picked up a pair of BH3D emblems this week to replace the two "sombrero" ones on the truck. I replaced the one on the grill and this one on the rear hatch. . I was also pleased with the number in the bottom left of my Ultragauge. I think that's the best I've ever had from a full tank in...

I didn't have any issues at all with the cruiser wheels. Are you having problems? The hub on my axle is not big so there is nothing to interfere with the wheels.

Wanted: Offroad trailer or the parts to build one

Funny, that's my old Tepui Tent. Dude bought that tent from me in the fall and was telling me about the trailers he was building. Not bad for a basic trailer.

    FZJ-80 Axles - preferably no e-lockers

It stopped running ( i believe because of a bad ecu) and it's been parked for a couple years. I have a replacement ECU for it that will go with it when it sells. I just bought a new 80 and don't need them both so the old one is going.

    Box Rocket Offroad Trailer Build

I don't remember for sure but I do think I used .120 wall for the frame and 1/4" receiver tube for the tongue. The uprights and rails were .080 and the skins were 20 ga. I did the article on the hitches it was in TCT Magazine in the November 2014 issue.

    FZJ-80 Axles - preferably no e-lockers

I've got a set of 80 axles. Non ABS, semifloat rear. Rear has an Aussie locker. I still have the factory spiders if you wanted to yank the locker. The axles come with the rest of the truck. The truck isn't running but $1800 would get you all of it if you want it.
