This is on the back driver's side of the engine... I didn't even know it was there and nothing is plugged in to it. It's leaking oil and I either need to plug it off or replace it.

Are you hearing the noise in both 2H and 4H? I think I may have a similar issue with mine. Keep us posted.

Never mind! Figured it out. The sensor has to be adjusted to the ring. It was too far away to get a reading. One problem down, about fifty more to sort out. :rolleyes:

Almost done with my 5.3 swap running and drove it around a short amount. The 4L60E won't shift out of first. I've hooked up one of the blue tooth OBD2 diagnostic deals. It's not reading any speed on the diagnostic tool so I'm suspecting the VSS isn't reading. Does anyone know how to test the...

$500 harness?!? A man of your talents could modify your own harness. I did my own and it only took a few hours.... and if I can do it than most people can! Seriously, you could save some cash here, it's not that bad.

Thanks Dave! That gave me everything I needed to know. I went out and unwrapped that wire bundle and, low and behold!!!, there we the wires I needed hiding under the electrical tape. Thanks a bunch!

Plan B is to pull the gauges and trace the dang wire to see where it goes.

Hey guys, So here's what I have going on. A friend pulled the motor for me while I was out of town (which was helpful) but he did not mark any of the sensors on the existing wiring harness (Which was not helpful). I sold the old motor before I had the sense of mind to match the pigtails up...

Ok....figured it out....I'm a little embarrassed to admit that it was a dead battery.....actually two dead batteries. Both of the batteries on my shelf were low I guess. Anyway, now it fires but only runs for a split second. Any thoughts on why that might be?

I spoke with Calvin and he recommended to unbolt the TC from the flex plate and push it back, then see if the motor turns. I went to unbolt it but when I went to turn the wrench the motor turned with less than say 10 lbs of force so I would guess that's not my issue. I'm going to replace the...

4l60E, I may need to pull the trans to double check this. I seated the TC in the trans, mated the trans to the engine, then bolted it to the fly wheel while turning the motor over by hand with a large wrench. Sound correct? I do remember when I was mating the trans and engine it wasn't...

Did it.... kicks hard. I also put a new starter on the engine and it didn't turn any easier.

So it's time to fire up the new engine (5.3) in my jeep. I connect all the wires just right and give the solenoid 12v an just get a click.... hook up the charger and get a slow half crank before it stops. I've checked all the connections and cleaned and brushed them down to shiny bare metal...
