best place to buy gears and locker

I'd be willing to bet that 4Wheel Parts is quoting you Genuine Gears, not Superior. If so, run, run away as fast as you can!!! Genuine Gears suck!! Rocklogic will treat you right. Even if they're a little more expensive they'll do it right and you won't have to worry.

    Why does my steering suck?

I know what you mean...mine was great when I first installed it, but I don't want to be replacing a ram once a year if they're going to keep going bad. If mine is bad I don't know what would have caused it to bend or wear out. Guess I need to pull mine apart and see if it's the culprit.

    Why does my steering suck?

I've got a hydro-assist ram on my 4Runner and my steering has been getting increasingly tighter and harder to steer. I wonder if the shaft on my ram is bent too? Sucks if it is...I mounted it parallel to the tie rod and it hasn't been smacked or anything like that. Maybe time to ditch the ram...

    Tires Locked Up!!!

So it's not in 4 wheel drive? Is the brake pedal sticking? Does the truck have hubs? Are they unlocked? If so then it would have to be a brake problem.

I found out I did a bad thing...

So what scrap yard does everyone haul their junk vehicles to in Salt Lake County? I've got an '86 Toyota pickup cab, bed, and frame that I need to get rid of. Do you have to remove all of the glass, carpet, seats, gas tank, etc. before you take it to the scrap yard? I have a title for it, so...

    Rear view mirror Q

If you've got a windshield to glue one to I picked a rear-view mirror up at autozone for around $12 and just glued it on below my cage, since mine interfered with the stock mirror also.

    Toyota High steer alignment

Easiest way to do a driveway alignment - get two thumbtacks, stick one in the outer tread block of each front tire halfway up the tire from the ground. Measure the distance between the tacks in the front, then roll your truck backwards until the tacks are in the center at the back of the tires...

I need to get a rear axle seal replaced on my '99 Dodge 2500 Cummins ASAP. Anyone know of a good shop in the south end of the Salt Lake Valley that could do...

    almost stock & snakes

I think the point is that stock rigs should not be advised NOT to wheel Constrictor. It is beyond the capability of most stock rigs and many drivers. Can some people make it through in a stock rig? Probably, but rigs that are not properly set up for the difficulty of the trail often cause...

    DO'S and Don't On a Toyota Build

Marlin Crawler or some type of dual transfer case setup has to be up there on the list. If he does it when he does the solid axle swap it will save him having to do drivelines twice. Then of course gears and lockers.

help needed for 95 Toy 4Runner

Looks like there are several sets for sale on ebay. Here's one link: ebay You might have to get some new spindle nuts too. I had to change mine out on my '85 that I converted to manual hubs. Would be a relatively easy fix for your situation.

help needed for 95 Toy 4Runner

What's broke on the IFS? I assume you don't have manual hubs? Easiest thing might be to buy some manual hubs and swap them out so that the front end isn't turning.

    99 dodge ctd overheating

Had the same problem with my '99. I replaced the thermostat and it helped slightly, but still not the ticket. I looked at my radiator and intercooler and there was a ton of dirt, sludge, bugs, etc. in the fins. I took a 2' long piece of 1/2" copper and soldered an elbow onto one end. Then I took...
