    moab black list

Great idea Utahxjer, let's hear a little more background info on BLACKMAGIC. I have no problem voicing my opinion to the above-mentioned businesses, but I want to know who is leading the charge and verification that the claims made are legit.

Axle Swap on 91 Toyota 4 runner

Not exactly sure what the difference in cost would be. You could cut off the coil link brackets and weld some perches on your rear axle and put some leafs on the back to replace the coils. There are several solid-axle-swap kits on the market that are made to fit the toyota front axle. Are you...

Axle Swap on 91 Toyota 4 runner

This also depends on what you are going to do with your 'Runner. Is it still going to see street use? Daily Driver or play toy? If you're going to need to drive it alot on the road the cheaper/easier route would be to swap a toyota solid axle onto the front. It will hold up fine with 35's, and...

    KSL Story

I have to agree with the above comments. I too saw the story and could not believe how one-sided, biased, and eco-nazi charged it was. The footage did not match anything related to the Jeep Safari. My gut reaction was that some Moab resident with a hidden agenda called KSL and made those claims...

    Good Alignment Shop

Sids Alignment Service in Springville. I've taken several 4x4's there after installing lifts and never had a problem after they did the alignment. They do everything from passenger cars to semi's, so they know what they're doing. Excellent customer service and price.

99 CTD w/ cracked exaust manifold

It's not too bad to pull the stock exhaust manifold. Me and Jinx replaced his cracked exhaust manifold with the 3-piece ATS one in about 3-4 hours. You can use your stock exhaust...the ATS manifold will bolt right up. Probably the trickiest part is getting the 3-piece manifold together, we just...

    Downey 3" lift

To do a solid axle swap properly I would plan on around $2000 in order to do it right, with new good-quality parts. You might be able to piece it together cheaper, but my personal opinion is that you shouldn't dive into a swap like that without the $$$ to do it right. Alot depends on the type of...

To 60 or To Not 60

The other weak link that you need to think about is the toyota knuckle itself. They are somewhat prone to breakage, especially with fairly large tires and hydro-assist or full-hydro steering. The knuckle studs that attach the steering arms are also prone to breaking (been there, broke that)...

    where to spend $1000?

Personally I like having 2 transfer cases, it makes it nice to be able to choose between them instead of being stuck in low-low all the time. I've got the CO2 tank, so forget the beadlocks for now and go with the doubler. (You'll just have to make sure and take me along on the wheelin' trips :D

    where to spend $1000?

#4 Buy a tube bender so that you and your neighbors can fab up some cool stuff. ;) Build some bumpers and sliders and sell them to pay off the bender and get #'s 1-3.

    AC question

No, it's special refrigeration oil. They sell it at Autozone or Checker...you should be able to get it wherever you buy the compressor. You'll need a hose to connect the can of oil to the A/C system to get the oil in.

    AC question

If your compressor froze up you will want the new A/C compressor with the clutch, since the clutch on your old compressor is probably toast. Either way if you have to remove the compressor you will lose the refrigerant (freon). You would not have to recharge the system, but you will need to put...

    Jinx ole boy

Happy late B-day Jinx. Man, you get tools, and I got a busted injection pump on my cummins for my b-day! But my wife ordered me a new license plate for the dodge for my b-day present too, so maybe by the time I get the pump fixed the new plate will be here too. Thanks for lettin' me borrow your...

    DToy

Hey, wouldn't ya know it I just barely stumbled onto this thread today. Thanks for the B-day wishes, especially for calling me "OLD". :D I'm starting to look it too with my grey hair (I blame most of that on my ex-wife), but I'm not that old!

need a good machine shop recommendation

I agree, Strasburg all the way. I've had a Toyota 22RE, AMC 401, and a Ford 7.3 Diesel built by these guys. Great prices, fairly quick turnaround, excellent quality, and their knowledge is second to none. They do get a little busy in racing season, but my stuff has always been done when they...

Any interest in local off-road park

I'm in too. I'd donate my time to help build it, as well as assisting in researching the legal/liability aspects. I also work for a large construction company in the state. I think I could find several of our subcontractors that would donate time/equipment to help out. Let's get the ball...

    trailer questions

My trailer is an Aztec...18' long and 7' wide. Makes it nice when you want to haul your rig and some ATV's at the same time. Also the axles on my trailer are a little further back from center on the trailer...makes it alot easier to get the weight distributed properly and tows like a dream. I...

    U4WDA/CCKC Fall Ride 2004

My thoughts exactly. Yep, you're probably right. I was back at my 4Runner for part of the time when Joey was hopelessly trying to get through. He was in there for a good 15 to 20 minutes more when I walked back up. I watched until I saw him getting really stupid. After the second or third...
