    U4WDA/CCKC Fall Ride 2004

you mean this: Not real great pics, but the rollbar did make a good jack/winch point.

Yep, eaxctly. Would you hurry up already? Who cares if your tire is off the wheel? Just move along.

    U4WDA/CCKC Fall Ride 2004

Ditto, exactly my feelings. Breakage is going to happen. My problem was with Joey taking 45 mins. to get through and then everyone expecting the rest of us to hurry through.

    U4WDA/CCKC Fall Ride 2004

I'm not trying to start a war, nor am I trying to single anyone out, I'm simply stating what I saw. This is exactly what I was referring to. We had to sit and watch the orange buggy try and try and try for at least 45 minutes to make it up that obstacle until he finally blew a front axle shaft...

    U4WDA/CCKC Fall Ride 2004

By my count there were 21 rigs on the trail.

    U4WDA/CCKC Fall Ride 2004

I agree with the above comments...we did the Pinnacle Trail and had a blast! Many thanks to Scott and his wife and the CCKC & U4WDA. Now for my likes and dislikes: Likes - Great trail, fun obstacles, beautiful scenery. The Pinnacle Trail was awesome! Exactly as-advertised. - Great...

    Tow Rig consideration

Actually it's only the injection pump that runs close to $1500...the lift pump only runs about $150 :D . I have a '99 Cummins 24V Quad cab auto and haven't had a moments trouble with it. I bought it with 54K on it and it's almost at 100K now and still going strong. If you want alot of interior...

    Cheapest alignment Utah County

Probably the best shop I've found in Utah County is Sids Alignment Service in Springville. They know their stuff and will do it right - the first time. They usually charge around $40 bucks though. Or you could pay less and take it to some tire store where a minimum-wage tire buster can guess at...

    84-85 4Runner advise

Assuming you're going to put a lift and crossover steering on it regardless, the only real added costs are a SAS kit (around $250) and a front axle ($200-$300). But when you figure that you'd want a wider rear axle for the '85 ($250-$300)and a power steering box ($75-$100) for the crossover...

    84-85 4Runner advise

I agree with Coreshot. I've built both an '85 pickup and a '88 4Runner. The '85 had EFI, but I had to swap in an IFS Steering box, IFS rear axle, etc. I did a Solid Axle Swap on my '88 'Runner and it wasn't too bad. You don't have to buy much extra to do a SAS compared to lifting an '85 that...

Stolen!! 5, 37" Super Swamper tires

Yeah, what bolt pattern are the wheels? I'll keep my eyes peeled down here in Moab!

    vehicle advice needed

New Durango = Minivan w/ a hemi. Those things are ugly!!! But to each his own I guess. I think their axles are reasonably stout though.

    vehicle advice needed

Hell yeah, you can fit 3 kids in a 4Runner no problem, unless they have serious weight issues. I put 3 in mine, and 2 of them are in car seats. The 'Runner will get close to 20 mpg too. Tons of parts, very reliable, and much better to wheel than a full-size. Plus they weigh less than a Cruiser.

    vehicle advice needed

Go with a Toyota 4Runner...room to haul the kids and quite a bit of gear too. Surprisingly they do have more room in them than the cherokees do, and for moderate wheeling they will take you where you want to go without alot of modifications.

    Toyota Lift Poll

I have Alcans on my '88 Runner with the orbit eyes. Yes, they are expensive...damn expensive, but I haven't had to mess with them at all since I put them on over 2 years ago. They flex like mad, and I have zero axle wrap from the rear even though I'm not running a traction bar. In my opinion, if...

    Toyota twin sticks

I've got one in my 'Runner. I run a detroit in the front, so it makes it really nice. I leave it in 2wd most of the time, and then shift the front in and out as needed. The only way to go unless you have an electric locker or ARB in the front. Easy to install too.

draglink and steering box hitting each other

What year is your jeep? I'm more familiar with Toyotas, but I'm sure a call to a few shops around would get you the info you need. The manufacturer of your crossover steering might be able to help also. A shorter pitman arm will make your steering slightly less-responsive, in that it will take...

draglink and steering box hitting each other

Sounds like your tie rod (The long bar that attaches to the knuckles) is hitting the Pitman Arm. You might be able to re-drill the holes in your high steer arms, but maybe a better alternative might be a shorter Pitman Arm. If you're only lacking 1/2" then getting a 3/4" to 1" shorter Pitman Arm...

    Gps...

www.gpscity.com usually has pretty good prices. Sometimes you can find a good deal on Ebay, but when I was looking for mine the difference between a used one on ebay and a new one was only about $20 bucks. I have a Garmin GPS V. It came with the vehicle mount, cigarette lighter adapter, computer...

    Who lives in Moab?

Yeah, the 'Runner is finally ready to go play. Too bad I was a day late for Delta :-\ . I gotta go scope out a place to stay in Moab soon...hopefully in the next few weeks. You're welcome to crash down there anytime once I find a place.
