I just put springs on my samurai and every spring bolt on the fixed end was froze up. A torch is the fastest way to get em off but I don't have one so it was sawzall time. Doesn't take too long, just cut them inside the hanger on both sides then it should come out. Good luck shouldn't take...

I totally dig it! You should do it for sure. You could probably get away with a yj spring swap to clear 33"s easy and they are supposed to ride very well for a sami. Might even be cool to stretch the length a little to gain more stability. Cool idea for sure, DO IT!!
