    San Rafael Swell

I took one of my kids down there a couple years ago for an overnight camping trip. We left SLC in the morning; went to the Hamburger Rocks, Wedge Overlook, then down the Buckhorn Draw Rd stopping at the Dinosaur Footprint and every Pictograph Panel all the way to the river. Then we backtracked...

Keeps the posts from lifting out of the ground from the wire tension in the low spots.

How many of you done a drastic change ?

I'll PM you next time we come down. Planning on being there Nov 4 for the balloon festival, unfortunately not before then. If nothing else, I could point you in the right direction for a few good sight seeing roads.

How many of you done a drastic change ?

My wife and I both grew up in Page! She went to NAU, I went to SUU... We ended up in the big city of SLC. We still frequent Page. Good dirt biking and wheeling all over the place. I'd like to get back to a smaller town.

    Gigabit Off Road.

I've had Gigabit for at least a month now, still playing and am trying to earn for upgrading the next vehicle. I've found the 4 door Dodge with the upgrade for the IFS prerunner style suspension to be pretty fast across the rough stuff. Beat worlds 1 & 2, 90% of 3, 95% of 4, and about 50% of 5.

We're stumped: why would a Chevy 350 have (almost) no oil pressure?

Did you/he check the 3 ports behind the timing cover that 'usually' have press-in plugs? I recall something about threading those because they can push out and bleed off the pressure. They can be tapped and plugged (watch the depth on the middle one to not block oil flow in the oil gallery).

    Time for a truck change....

My work truck is an '05 V10 Ford with 4.30 (reg cab 4wd). I'm packing about 1500lbs worth of fiberglass utility shell (1ft taller than cab) with tools and junk. I can milk 12mpg setting the cruise at 65 and going from slc to Coalville. It makes good pulling/climbing power but doesn't feel like a...

    Looking For My First Motorcycle

Honda XR650L: more dirt oriented. Air cooled. Easy maintenance. Tall suspension. Suzuki DR650: middle of the pack. (Know nothing personally about this one). Kawasaki KLR650: more street oriented. Water cooled. Fairing for wind protection. Little harder for maintenance. I just got rid of...

    Electrical advice needed

Replace one of the three bulbs and try again. Uncommon to pop three at the same time, but not impossible. Do you have a volt meter, even a cheap one? Stab it into the outlet and even on one of the bulb sockets and double check your voltage. I cannot imagine their being a large change in...

Geez I missed this post. I would have went yesterday! Could have used that 3pt tiller and maybe bid on a gooseneck flatbed. Shoot. Hopefully next year

    My truck sucks in sand

I'm running 245 BFG Rugged Trails on my dodge. Yep to a ridiculous amount of axle hop. Aired down it does pretty good. We ran the Dead Dog Wash north of Page in it, and was getting around better than my brother's Tundra on aired up BFG ATs.

    Camp trailer repair recommendations?

Not to sound like a smart ass but how long are you allowing the blower to run after the flame is out? Give it a minute to cool via the blower motor.

FRIENDS NEED HELP IN ST GEORGE. WELDER NEEDED

Call Randy Carter (Carter Welding) out of Kanarraville. I used to work for him while I was in college. Shameless plug, but I don't know anybody else down there. 435-691-6407

XR Rebuild Questions. Suggestions & Opinions

Follow up... Spoke with machinist yesterday, and he swears the piston didn't bind when everything was shipped. He said send it back and he'd fix/replace as necessary on his dime.

XR Rebuild Questions. Suggestions & Opinions

I've come to the conclusion that the cylinder is shaped like an hour glass; it's tighter mid stroke. I checked ring gap in different spots to prove this, and the gap is tighter in the middle. As it started to warm up, the piston didn't fit anymore. Talk about pissed... Supposed to be a new...

XR Rebuild Questions. Suggestions & Opinions

I have an XR400 that I'm having an issue with. In July it was starved of oil because a broken link on the cam chain sliced up the chain guides and little pieces of plastic clogged the trash screen on the frame (dry sump). I tore it down and sent it off for a hone/replacement. Machinist said...

    Single axle trailer shackle issues.

Springs are worn out (more likely) or too much weight. Shackle mounts are too far forward (less likely, but possible).

South-West Utah Alstrom Point, Left Hand Collett, HITR Road - Oct 6th thru 9th

Funny, I was just talking to a good friend of mine about Left Hand Collet. We both grew up in Page and he did the road a few years ago in a GMC truck on 35". He said it was terrible. I've been to Ramona/Alstrom countless times and the road has been high speed as well as taking a full day...
