Got a light? DIY project puts out 90,000 lumens (not a typo)

They make about 1500 lumens. It's a complete marketing gimmick. The problem is you need like 16-17v and 9 amps available and the 4s lithium arrangement provides 14.8v typical and 18650 cells don't really handle 9amps discharge anyway, unless you get the really expensive high drain ones. You...

Got a light? DIY project puts out 90,000 lumens (not a typo)

It's not 90k lumens, it's 60something tops. These chinese led arrays and not efficient enough to produce 90lm/watt. Plus those crappy chinese drivers he's using probably aren't running them at full power anyway. By his own narration stating he gets about 10 minutes of runtime I'm estimating...

    Turbo talk

Here's a fun video lol. In this one the car has to flash past the low rpm stock converter, then once it does and gets to boostable rpm the tires light up and it sounds like a cut air compressor hose. If/when I get this going again I'll consider buying an appropriate high stall converter. Turbos...

    Turbo talk

It's an automatic transmission, so when you punch it the rpms immediately start to climb, the pcm notices the rapid change in tps and map and then commands a downshift, by the time it disengages and engages in the new gear, the rpms are somewhere higher, that's why you see the rpm needle moving...

    Turbo talk

I worked at STS for 5 years and built a custom turbo kit for my Camaro and did a ton of tuning on it. I can answer any of your questions about how they work and I have real experience with them not just internet hearsay. A rear mount isn't a bad idea for something like this, not at all. Not...

Need a heavy duty air inpact...

What gun do you have? also it's the flow that determines how hard it hits, not the tank pressure, big difference.

Need a heavy duty air inpact...

impact guns take about 10 full seconds to deliver max tq btw... the back and forth stuff is usually just a waste of air, just wait longer. And if your gun isnt a twin anvil type then it's useless to begin with.

    Another battery question

If they are all of similar condition and state of charge, you could wire them in series and give each battery 13.5v, limited to around an amp. Best way is probably to buy a bunch of cheap battery tenders...

They best deep cycle AGM batteries aren't automotive. Most of the automotive ones sucks. You'll be spending around a grand or more.

Drones...should you be scared for your privacy?

wow, you guys are e-thugs. Would you honestly discharge a firearm into the air in your neighborhood at an R/C toy? Some people should not own guns plain and simple. If you feel violated by the toy go walk two houses down and confront the kid flying it (explode his brains or...

    Rzr or jeep

this guy :D Who wants one and who wants one enough to hand someone 20 grand so they can take it out a couples times a year, are two very different questions.

    Rzr or jeep

This is exactly why i like a well rounded, built jeep (not stock or buggy); overall, it works well enough in all areas to give the most enjoyment with the least hassle, by far. And in addition, anything expensive isn't as fun because you're scared to scratch it.
