Both of those issues have been addressed with the cover. They Tepui covers are different now from the one you pictured. No zipper or waterproof issues at all with the one I have.

spotted this super clean Syncro yesterday on I-15 in Davis County. I'm not usually as big a fan of Westys/Syncros as some people, but this one was impressive for sure. Great looking rig.
