What did you work on Today; Home Edition

I don't know how your mud and tape skills are but, have you ever used one of these? I used one building my shop and it was a time saver. You're a little far away but you'd be welcome to use it.

    LS 5.3/Old School Manual Transmission

I was hoping you'd chime in. I figured you had experience with this. That seems to be the common recipie. Quick search shows K5552-01 would be the clutch kit for me, as it has the 11", 10 spline x 1 1/16 instead of 1 1/8 like the chevy transmissions. Have you matched up that clutch disc with...

    LS 5.3/Old School Manual Transmission

My understanding is that manuals were offered from the factory behind the 4.8 and 6.0 but never in a truck behind the 5.3. Fortunately, as @Greg said, all the crankshaft were the same - with exception to the '99-'00 6.0, which had a longer crankshaft flange. Yes, but these were considered...

    LS 5.3/Old School Manual Transmission

Looking for advice/experience. I'm getting conflicting information online. Imagine that...🤔 Considering swaping my engine but sticking with my manual transmission - because I like it! So, looking for experience with this topic. Drivetrain is currently a TBI 350 with an iron Duke bellhousing...

Towing a car hauler (Jeep) with a slide-in camper

No, I'm not towing with the hemi. Mine is the cummins. Sorry for the confusion. I was just trying to show the differences in the trucks based on the model.

Towing a car hauler (Jeep) with a slide-in camper

This is what I heard too. The manufacturers advertise highest cargo capacity and tow ratings. The fine print is which model gets the highest rating. In my year truck, the regular cab, 2wd, dually, 6.4 hemi has the highest cargo capacity while the regular cab, 2wd, dually with the HO Cummins has...

Everbody is doing it... '49 GMC 100 Build

The issue I'm facing now is whether I should weld nuts inside the frame (for running board mounts, suspension mounts, etc.) or do speed holes in the boxing plates that will give me access to bolt things on later???

Everbody is doing it... '49 GMC 100 Build

The original rear cab mounts on these old trucks were a shackle type mount while The front cab mount was similar to what I made for the rear. The old frames were open "c" channel and had a lot if flex. The shackle type mount let the cab move with the frame. With the added power and modern...

Everbody is doing it... '49 GMC 100 Build

It's been a while and not much progress. I did have a load of parts show up from Speedway and had @I Lean cut a few pieces for me. Fish plates for inside the frame rails where I did the splice.

I wish I would have had your testimonial when I used to sell Prevost. Nice couplers! I don't have any myself...🙁 I didn't have a compressor or air tools at the time.
