    Line/hose options for onboard air?

Thanks everybody. I'll follow your advice and go that route. That's interesting that it's used for diesel fuel. I think I will run parts of it through heater hose to protect it from abrasion/cuts.

    Line/hose options for onboard air?

Great, thanks. I'll buy local at Six States. Those PTC connectors seem too easy to be good. haha. Did they ever leak?

I want to learn to weld!

Just looked it up. They show the class, but it's unclear how the Covid stuff plays into it. The price has jumped a bit to $200, but for someone like me who doesn't have a shop currently, it's worth it to get some projects knocked out...

I want to learn to weld!

I realize this thread is a bit old, but I just wanted to throw out there that Salt Lake County holds a night welding class. I took it a few years back and it's basically free use of the shop and all its welding equipment, tools, saws, etc along with access to the instructor. Many people take...

    Line/hose options for onboard air?

Good tips. I will keep hot items in mind and probably also route lines outside of the skid-covered areas. Where did you source your lines and fittings? Locally or online?

    Line/hose options for onboard air?

Hi all. I'm planning out an onboard air setup with a tank under the bed, ARB dual compressor under hood, and lines running to a bulkhead/quick-coupler at the front and rear bumpers. I'm wondering what the best type of tubing, hose, fitting standard I should use. It would be nice to just use...

Shop / Tools DIY powder coating?

I read in a forum somewhere about a guy to claimed to have attached two oil drums end to end, added some oven heating elements to make it a powder coating oven for bumpers. No idea if it was BS, but that's some serious DIY lol.

Shop / Tools DIY powder coating?

Greg, that pre-heating process is not unlike a lot of youtoob videos I've seen where people are heating a part with a blowtorch, then dusting or blowing powder on it. I planned on trying that method out to touch up gouges in powdercoated sliders/bumpers or if I need to weld a tab on a...

    Need Fabricator: Taco Rock Sliders

The 4-5 month guy said they were actually only 1 month out so whoever told me that had made a mistake. Most of the sliders I looked at were a matter of only weeks out. The ones I got said 4-6 weeks on the site, but when I called, they were now in stock. So, I guess it just depends on the ebb...

    Tacoma Rock Slider question

Greetings RME. I'm looking at designs for weld-on rock sliders and was wondering if running additional bracing between the main rail and the body mounts (the metal mounts, not the bolts or body itself) would make sense to make them stronger. I've seen bolt-on ones that use brackets held by the...

    Need Fabricator: Taco Rock Sliders

Thanks, all! Because I'm inexperienced with fabbing sliders, I don't trust my judgment about positioning and angle, so I wanted to hopefully pay someone with experience with Tacoma sliders and what works best, etc. I was also wondering if welding additional legs to the body mounts would be an...

    Need Fabricator: Taco Rock Sliders

Looking for someone to weld on some rock sliders on my 2010 Taco Access Cab. These are the ones I'm looking at getting (with the Square and DOM options): https://www.4xinnovations.com/2005--2018-Access-Cab-Tacoma-Rock-Slider_p_73.html Alternatively, I'm open to having some fabricated locally...
