need help moving/towing jeep for cheap

It has full-width axles from full-size trucks and also has wide tires with offset wheels. Tires are 35" dia and the uhaul tire straps would not even go around the tire even if it did fit between the fenders. I think the width is roughly 84 inches, but I'd need to drive up there and verify that

need help moving/towing jeep for cheap

It will run, but has idle problems and needs constant jumping. Keeps dying when I switch from park to drive or reverse. So, a winch would be awesome, but we could probably get it to drive on to the trailer with a few jumps.

need help moving/towing jeep for cheap

looking for an inexpensive tow to get my jeep from kaysville to Bountiful (Jeep not running). Does anybody have a towtruck who does side jobs or does anybody have a trailer that could haul it for a reasonable price? The Jeep has wide axles/tires, so it would need to be a wide trailer -- I...

    inexpensive source for scrap steel?

I need some steel tubing and plate for bumpers and skids, etc. Last time I was at Wasatch, they wanted a lot of dough for rusty scrap. I'm on a tight budget and was hoping to find a scrap yard or something with some junk I could make use of for an inexpensive cost or free. Any Ideas or am I...

    Dana 35 LOCKER!!

Man, that sucks. I would rather spend my energy doing something to earn money for a bigger axle than spend another minute working on a D35. Just my $.02 don't bother with D44 either. If you're going to go to all the trouble of the swap and the associated work and costs, do it once and do...

EFI Engine Swap into CJ5, opinions please!

'few more things: 1st, I reccomend you consider keeping that rebuilt 304 if you're happy with it. I am just finishing up a V8 swap into a YJ and after the unexpected troubles and expenses (4x original budget) i feel like my time would have been better enjoyed on the trails and my money could...

    size/style of p.s. hose fittings?

Thanks for the tip -- I'll try Hose&Rubber this time around. Last time I went to Evco to ask them for some suggestions on which of their products would suit my project, they acted annoyed that I didn't have an exact application or part number  Anybody know what I should ask for? I...

EFI Engine Swap into CJ5, opinions please!

I've heard mostly negative things about holley pro-jection. My sense is if you enjoy tinkering around with mixture settings from time to time, then it's probably ok, but if you're looking for reliability and consistent performance, I'd look elsewhere. Not everybody will agree with this and...

EFI Engine Swap into CJ5, opinions please!

Check out what Howell has to offer. I had one of their TBI kits on my 4.2 and liked it. I also just did a V8 swap and used one of their TBI harnesses. I think they offer good quality for a reasonable price and they have been helpful and easy to work with when I've had to call them...

    Hydro EVERYTHING...

Just a curious noob question, but are there larger, heavy-duty pumps that could be used in place of two separate ones? P.S. if you're going "full hydro", maybe you should do a hydraulic winch as well...:D

    size/style of p.s. hose fittings?

Does anybody know what size the fittings are on a '90 YJ power steering box? I've searched around and am not having much luck. Are they AN6, AN8? Other? I'm mounting a wide radiator, but the steering box lines are making the filler cap touch the hood. So, I need to re-route the...

    Anyone heard from Seth/Rocklogic Lately?

Yes. I called and reported my Jeep stolen by Seth Hammon in early December. The police would not do anything claiming it was a civil matter to which I argued I had no other recourse because all attempts to contact the crook had been unproductive for several months. They said because it was a...

    Champion Winch--first impressions

The Champion 8000s seem to have dried up, but Costco has a MileMarker 8000 for $339 including shipping. The sale price is good until June 15. http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11221004&whse=BC&topnav=&browse=&lang=en-US I'm going to think it over and probably buy one tomorrow.

    Valve Stem Damage Prevention?

After several years of using these valve stems, I have not had any problems with them and have amazingly not yet lost all of the extra filler tubes. Just thought I'd post an update/review to help if somebody's looking for another soution to the kind problems I had.

    PIAA help

There's a FAQ on PIAA's website that says you can call their customer servvice line to get a set of instructions. It would be nice if they'd just let you download an electronic version, but hopefully they'll only charge you a couple of bucks for postage. http://www.piaa.com/FAQs/FAQs.html

    PIAA help

this diagram might help. I'm assuming your PIAA "harness" is laid out like this, but may not be. It's easy to wire your own, just make sure the gauge of the lamp wiring and relay is suited to the amperage draw of the lamps. The switch portion of the wiring is low-amperage, so it won't require...

    Champion Winch--first impressions

Are these M.I.A. then? I looked again on costco.com and at the Bountiful Costco and found nada. Ran across this review. Although it's not a rigorous review, it does give the sense that people are generally pleased with it...
