2019 EJS picture (and story) thread

A quick and easy fix for vapor lock is to install an electric fuel pump close to the fuel tank before the mechanical fuel pump. Just run on the mechanical fuel pump until you experience vapor lock, then switch on the electric fuel pump to increase pressure in the line to overcome the vapor...

Glad you were able to fix your starter. I have dB Electric on speed dial now.

Cheston, give DB Electrical a call at 800.753.2242. They have an awesome selection of starters for really good prices. They have a Web site, just google it. I bought a new Denso starter for about $80 versus about $180 for a rebuilt starter from NAPA.

    The end of an era

Kevin Reimer is a fantastic fabricator and an engineering genius. I was lucky to be able to buy his first buggy, a Samurai based buggy that weighs 1750 lb. That little machine is so much fun to pilot and can conquer most obstacles on 33's. Good luck with your future competitions.

Trip Report Willys in Pritchett Canyon

Impressive. The non-directional tires I've used on my vintage Power Wagons had durometers about the same as an oak plank.

Trip Report Willys in Pritchett Canyon

I can't believe how well the non-directional tires on the flat fenders were working. They are probably some of the worst tires for rock crawling you can find.

    Alternators

Bryson, my only purchase from DB Electrical was the John Deere starter, but itworks great. Looks like the O.E.M. unit made by Denso.

    Alternators

I recently bought a new starter for my 1985 John Deere tractor from DB Electrical for about half the cost of a rebuilt one from NAPA. Free shipping and received it in three days. Phone 800.753.2242 or see website at www.dbelectrical.com. They carry aan amazing assortment.

    Batteries...what's good these days

The OEM batteries in my 2003 Dodge Cummins diesel are still working great even after 15 years of Wyoming winters and other abuse. Very pleased with them, but I suspect that the end will be soon.

    D44 pinion bearing - play?

If your rear driveshaft is still off, try taking it for a run in front wheel drive to see if the noise or vibration changes. Might tell you something.

    Free Old army wheels

Saw your post on the tires and wheels section, they are definitely M37 wheels. Please put me in line for them.

    Free Old army wheels

Not getting any pictures showing up on your post. They're probably from a Dodge M37 from your brief description. They would fit my Dodge Power Wagons if they're from an M37. Please text a picture to 307.679.5195, I'm interested.

2018 EJS Potato Salad Hill Fundraiser & Cleanup

Good to finally meet you Greg. I took the single seat buggy up Potato Salad Hill two times, then Captain Rob put on a wild show.

I left two gas cans in Moab last weekend for you. I'm leaving Wyoming today for EJS and will be there through big Saturday.

I have some old style gas cans that I'm sure won't leak. I'll bring a couple to ejs for you, free. If I can find them, I also have some twin stick rubber gaskets that I'll bring along, also free. Loving your build report.

    6.0 powerstroke rebuild.

I've had really great experiences with Staceys Repair in Woodruff, Utah. They know Ford vehicles very well. They were able to fix a '99 Power Stroke when several other mechanics were baffled. Brent is the manager, phone number is 435-793-4505. Most honest people I've had the pleasure...
