That's good to know about the front axles. How do you check to see if the axle is bent? Just look at it or what? I guess we're trying to make sure the axle tubes are straight?

I guess I should add that I have a truck and I have a car so I will have this jeep to be a jeep....not a daily driver etc....just to be a jeep and do what jeeps do.

Yeah.... I thought about doing that.... so I resolved the bolt pattern issue. It is actually a 5x4.5 pattern like standard jeep wheels....at least according to this chart below. Apparently on 4,6,8 lug wheels you measure center to center...or end to end on the lugs but on the 5 lug wheels you...

I actually do want to change the wheels.... I can't stand poser fake bead locks. .....I'm ashamed to bring them around you guys.

Thanks for the good information guys. Looks like those Reid racing knuckles are about $275....not too bad. My brother does have a d44 laying around I might be able to talk him out of.... but that means I'm going to have to figure out wheels and new shafts for the rear or whatever since his is...
