    Current hotness in Diesel batteries?

I've been out of the game for um... a while. The rig is a 98 Ram 2500 with a 12 valve, stock springs, Rancho 2"ish level spacer, bilstein 5100s, and firestone bags in the rear, I share the suspension information so you can start to paint a picture of the kind of vibrations that exist in the...

Back from the dead (heh... see what I did there?)

So uh, how you guys been? It's been a little while since I've blown the dust off my old RME account, having taken a significant break from the dirt scene. I'm Randy, I used to be on here a lot, I've had a few blazers, a couple of jeeps, a couple of Yukons, and bunch of other stuff, but I...

    #iwannagofast ZJ build

I missed RME, so I signed in.,.. and then I came here, and now I miss my old ZJ. I almost miss the smell of burnt band saw, too.

    Crappy situation

Cool, I emailed the picture and a brief description to tips@tooeleco.org if there's a better address, I'd be happy to send it.

    Crappy situation

It's been a while since I've posted anything here... but I figure this might be the place to track this clown down. I followed and then passed this guy near Faust on the Pony Express Trail Road yesterday, at 12:21 PM apparently. Icould tell someone was leaking something, and it stunk, but...

Who gets their stickers made where?

Another for Sam at Graphic Evolution www.graphicevo.com He's done every sticker that's been on anything I've owned since like 1993.

Atlas case in a GMT 400 (99 Yukon?)

Can you expand on backspacing? My goal is to run a 17x9 wheel, with as close to stock H2 offset as I can get in effort to keep more of the tire under the truck, and not have to run a burly flare or be stupid wide....

Atlas case in a GMT 400 (99 Yukon?)

My next question, I've pretty much settled on the ORU kit, with some stock replacement front leaves to keep me at about 3"s of lift... The outstanding question I have now is what 60 should I shop for? There are two options with the ORU kit, a 32.x" spring pad width, and a 36.x pad width...

Atlas case in a GMT 400 (99 Yukon?)

Greg, My dash looks just like that, but has the "Auto 4wd button on the bottom part of the 2HI button... forgot to snap a pic thismorning, will get one up later.

Atlas case in a GMT 400 (99 Yukon?)

I posted the above before reading your reply Greg... My current case is the autotrack pushbutton... any idea how much wiring I'd need to change to go non autotrack? I'm certainly planning a swaybar... I'd initially envisioned finding a way to make the stock on work (might not be possible)...

Atlas case in a GMT 400 (99 Yukon?)

Bryson, it's an OOBS truck, the 99 Yukons and Tahoes were still GMT 400 platform so I'm leaf spring in the back. I'm almost open to a D44 front, but I am attracted to the brake upgrade of the one ton axles, as well as the durability of kingpins, and the rest of the 60 stuff. I'm well aware...

Atlas case in a GMT 400 (99 Yukon?)

Inspired by Greg's Dual Sport, and frustrated with the stock front end on my 99 Yukon, I'm starting to put together a project list for solid axles... I've been been looking at the ORU kit, and this kit from Fabworx http://www.fabworxoffroad.com/low-boy-3252-kit-for-dana-60-sac/ Ideally...

no idea who ever thought this was a cool idea

I don't understand all the hate... I mean, it's like watching rock crawling. A guy drives over an obstacle really slowly, and obviously his approach and line are critical to making it over without damage... except the obstacle is a regular gutter, but it's totally the same thing. I just made...

    Jeep Dana 44

I put one under my ZJ. Control arm brackets will work, steering will need to be solved, track bar will need to be solved. Spring perches will need to be moved inward, and then you'll have a wider axle with a differnt bolt pattern for wheels, and brakes that don't clear most 15" wheels...

    Daily driver decisions

The brakes on the SRT8 are cool... until you go to replace them, or so I've heard. Pads are expensive, and they tend to go quick with those massive calipers. If it were me, I'd probably lean toward the TBSS... the hitch adds a lot of versatility.

The ZR1 Spider that fell down the hole is sad... why can't these holes pop open under the westboro church?

    Difference between a GM 350 and a Oldsmobile 350?

Heads are spaced differently, intake manifold is wider, everything is on the opposite side from Chevy, meaning starter, oil filter... the distributor sits on the wrong side fo the cam and spins backward from chevy (made for a REALLY confusing evening before I noticed that) Exhaust manifolds and...
