Mine was a 5.9. The 8.8 is a more common swap, and as I recall, it's narrower, so wheel adapters will bring it out to the width of the stock front.

I swapped front and rear, they are different width, different lug pattern, and NONE of the jk brackets on the rear will work with anyting designed for a ZJ.

The JK axles I put under my old ZJ were unit bearing hubless deals, effectively sold slugs out of the box. They were 2008, but I've never seen a JK with anything but standard unit bearings.
