It finally arrived and was ready for pickup yesterday! Got it home and lifted before dark. Jeeps have come a long ways and these are built very well.

I am planning on picking up a gladiator this fall in Sting Gray. I am torn however on which one of my Toyota’s I am going to give up.

Delete the factory rear muffler and install new one mid ship. Relocated the sway bar back 1.5”. Trimmed the upper shock mounts to clear the reservoir and adjuster, it may not have been needed but I did weld a lip back into where I trimmed the mounts . Really wasn’t too much work and it is nice...

Got my rear upside down Falcon shocks installed and trimmed front Poison Spyder fenders to work. Turned out well and these shocks are fantastic!

Back in the day we were swapping them out for new assemblies. They have a welded pin and not sure if there is a bushing internal to the gear. Typically if the planetary gears have been loose the outer gear in the case may have damage as well. It may be possible to repair, see the pictures attached.

Looks like you have some fine copper color thrust washer debris. You need to remove and inspect the planetary gears for wear/play. I have been into many of these for similar noise and that is typically where the issue is found. I believe I am local to you if you need a hand inspecting it.

Centerforce clutch and stepped up to 40’s.
