For Sale Tools and Misc Stuff

If you buy the brake stuff, I’d be interested in the press. Not sure how much the stuff would be worth to justify dividing up?

    Suzuki XL-7 build- “XL7-UP”

Just a strength/fatigue concern of mine. The 32’s with steel wheel are considerably heavier than the stock tire. When I removed the carrier from the gate the other day, it was noticeably flimsy. I just worry over time it’ll crack. I suppose, I could try to get to it from the inside to see if I...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Added a hood to the arc gouging room at MTECH’s Lehi campus. This room only had a 14” exhaust at the ceiling, and opposite end of the room where the students work. Built this hood by hand, teaching my two apprentices. It’s not perfect, but we don’t have access to a full sheet metal shop, so we...

Is it ok to have a "make light of" thread?

As MTECH’s new Payson campus started flying steel these past two weeks, I can’t help but remember this company from back east.

    Suzuki XL-7 build- “XL7-UP”

I appreciate the trademark you put after overlanding. I don't really plan to "OVERLAND", but I do intend to use this as a family camping rig to wheel with. Good thinking on the table. I think I'll just plan to do it on the drivers side.

    Suzuki XL-7 build- “XL7-UP”

Doing some redesigning of my rear bumper plan. I will be moving the spare tire off the hatch, to the bumper. Need some input! The hatch swings open to the side, from the drivers side, hinged on the passenger side. Should I have the carrier swing the same way as the door, or, should I put the...

Has this been posted? I see a mechanic posting out of SLC, haven’t seen a machinist posting.

    1943 Willys MB Halfcab

Pull the spark plugs and fill with some diesel, or marvel and let it soak. Might be able to at least get it to break free.

What is the purpose of the headlights rotating into the engine bay? Very interesting idea. And super cool little rig!!

    Suzuki XL-7 build- “XL7-UP”

Couldn’t find any 4.5” ID pipe, so made my own for coil buckets. Also started on my rear receiver so I can hopefully bust out the rear bumper soon.

    Steel plate supplier

Is there enough interest to do a group buy on steel plate? I have a contact who is a wholesaler to retail suppliers. I’m thinking about asking him what the minimum order is to buy from him. He unfortunately doesn’t do any tube or anything else but plate. Just gauging interest before I ask.

Dang…..the temptation to apply is real. Are you home just about every night? Or is there quite a bit of overnight stays out of town?

Toyota transmission and transfer case help.

I'm curious, does that have both an encoder shift motor as well as a shift lever? Or how does that work?

    Gawynz Manche Thread

This wouldn't exactly be honest......but.....you could ask to register it as diesel. It would then be exempt. I registered my comanche as diesel because I was going to TDI swap it. And I also had my TDI samurai registered as diesel. Lady at the dmv asked for my emissions once and I pointed out...

Pros and cons 1946 willys cj2a kubota swap

You wouldn’t HAVE to turbo it, but I would do it too. Refer engine injection pumps typically have very little useable RPM range. I haven’t done much with the Kubota stuff, but from my experience, it wouldn’t be a great road pump. It would probably be decent offroad. Personally, I’d suggest a...

What did you work on Today; Home Edition

Previous home owner had a mix of weeds and lava rock here. Been scooping for days and have filled my trash can a few times to the point I can barely move it. Picked up some scrap strap from my supplier to use as edging and pounded it in today. Tack welded it all together too to stay in place...
