    Whole House Fan install

I tried to make a big ball at the end of the unit and wrapped it with masking tape and wire. Hoping that it wouldn't put as much strain on the fan with more surface area to get the air past it. It looks like there is about 20 dead mosquito's that got sucked up in there when the fan was on from...

    Whole House Fan install

I bought the QC ES-2250 on sale for $712 just days after reading this post in June. I've been opening up our windows and running an Oscillating fan for years to pull cool air in to keep our Central Air happier and Power bill lower. I do wish I went a little bigger even with our smaller 1200...

    Wanted Scout II hard top

These are getting harder and harder to find. I did a quick online search on KSL and the Yards in SLC & didn't turn up anything. Years ago I picked up a lot of Scout parts from either Dwight's Auto Wrecking in Siguard (435) 896-8031 or Country Auto Salvage in Aurora (435) 529-3211. They had about...

General Tech Honda 2.4L Engine Issue (Tensioner failed)

Sorry to hear. Did you have it repaired or replace them yourself? I had the Dealer order the VTC Actuator for me but it is $281. Today I stopped by to talk with the Service Advisor at the Dealership but he said that he thinks that the timing chain is just stretched and wanted to give me a quotes...

General Tech Honda 2.4L Engine Issue (Tensioner failed)

Yes I ordered a new Timing set (DNJ TK227) and Oil Pump (DNJ OP228). Several of the threads mentioned that the VTC issue causes slack in the chain over time. This is the original Tensioner before the rebuild. This is the new set that I put in during the rebuild 4 years ago This is a couple...

General Tech Honda 2.4L Engine Issue (Tensioner failed)

Since I don't venture anywhere else I'll throw it out here since many of you are expert Mechanics or may have had the same issue. We inherited a 2005 Honda Accord 4 cylinder (167k) from my Parents 4 years ago. It was run low on oil and had a Rod knock noise after that. They were going to...

Jobs! Looking for a job? Is your company hiring? Post up here!

I've worked nights at UPS as a package handler for almost 4 years. The benefits are amazing since my Day job only pays 50% on several of the medications that my wife and daughter were on. It's crazy to pay around $5 now instead of up to $900 out of pocket for meds. Vested in a pension after 5...

Who wants to do a carfax for me?

If Google is correct it showed that it was wrecked and bought on auction in Nov 2017 in Missouri. https://www.copart.com/lot/42784847/Photos

Here is a pic that I got with my camera before the clouds rolled in. It was really cool to see it.

cutting the cord and dumping satellite / cable TV -- who here has done it, and how?

I bought the same antenna and I was amazed how well the local stations come in. Prior to that I was using a huge old antenna in the attic or switching out to several small antennas in my Basement Office without good results. I watch very little TV since I work 2 jobs and only have one show that...

    Residential Solar

$1k a year savings for now. For kicks I averaged what we paid Utah Power the 1st year we moved into our house in 2001 and it was $45.49/ month so it has doubled in 17 years. I know it will continue to go up as well. I have never leased a car and never plan to and till now I've been leasing my...

    Residential Solar

I have been fascinated with solar panels for as long as I can remember. It took a long time to get them since our roof was in bad shape when we bought our house 17 years ago. This year we finally had the money, Vacation time and Courage to take on the shingle tear off and reroof. It took my Dad...

    Guess i'm a sheep...

Our Explorer had the same problem and it ended up being a bad Heater Resistor. We bought a cheap $50 one that lasted a year and then bought the Ford model for $100. It looks like that connector is the correct one that goes to the resistor in this video 2002 Jeep GC blower motor resister replacement

    Batteries...what's good these days

I had the same luck with a cheap Wal-Mart battery and got my money back and got a DieHard that lasted a long time.

    The I-15 bounce!

I get the bounce as well with my F250 Ext Cab Long Bed. I added air bags but that didn't seem to make a difference. I have been meaning to get new Shocks since they are probably stock and almost 20 years old. That shackle looks like a great option.
