yes and no, there is a faint trail(more of a game trail) it's steeper than the rd but much shorter. but it's not from the end of mineral basin its more from the mine. from the end of mineral basin you have to backtrack quite a bit and climb a couple cliffs.

from sand hollow ohv staging area head through the tunnel, take an mediate right once your through it. follow the fenceline and its your second turn up a wash on your left. follow that for a bit then look to the left when it opens up and you'll see a small wall to climb the trail starts there...

it worked for me too a couple yrs ago. it was one of those what the heck i'll see what happens kind of things and it worked.

yes you would use the front half of your existing 249 and mate it with the back half and internals of the 242. i did however forget to ask 4.0/ 5.2/5.9 tho?

where were you 2 months ago i would have traded you 242's LOL i put a 99 242 in my 94 ZJ. to answer your question tho, i don't think so. what i ended up having to do was use the front half of the 249 w/ the input and planetary gear. and the back half of the 242 with all the 242 internals to...

the gear cuts changed in 94.5 or 95 i believe, i had this problem while doing a 242 swap in mine. had a 99 242 and a 94 249 and the gear cuts were different.
