Are there any people here interested in off-road racing in Utah

I'd be interested, but my truck is only half done. And I work slow. Post up and let us know what you get worked out.

what do you think about creeper joints?

You make a good point there. And the Scout is a monster, so it will exaggerate stuff like that. What do you think about using a track bar to control the flop?

what do you think about creeper joints?

I was seriously considering them for the front of my Blazer with 56" springs, but went with regular poly bushings instead. The Blazer has to be driven on the road and I didn't want to add one more thing that could contribute to erratic handling. I think they could give a truck a tendency to...

    Throttle body injection question

The 454s have much bigger injectors and the throttle body is different (larger.) I know there is a pretty wide range of different sized injectors available for the TBI setups. You should be able to find an injector with the right PPH. Another option is dual throttle bodys. Turbo City used to...

    Violated by UHP

I don't think it should matter. No one has been able to point me in the direction of a law that states full hydro is not legal. Good luck Chevycrew. I hope it all works out in your favor. Does anyone else get the impression that UHP's safety program is a little more focused on...

Utah BroncoSpeed - FOR SALE (see adverts section in RME4x4)

I really like the sound of this project. Keep the updates coming as you get stuff done. I have a full size Blazer with similar design criteria, just with a Dana 60 instead of TTB. It has to be street legal, race around in the desert and go rock crawling too. Couple suggestions: Do the...

    Jeep Cheap Cherokee Build

I've found that a little anti-seize or grease on the flaring die and tube make my flares come out a lot nicer. Especially on big stuff like power steering and fuel lines. Nice work on the cherokee. Definitely one of my favorite builds.

    electric vs machanical fuel pump?

^^^^a fuel pressure regulator is a good idea whether you go electric or big volume mechanical. As far as carbs go, I really liked my Quadrajet. I spent a lot of time making sure it was rebuilt correctly, but it would run on a pretty steep hill. I would crank the idle up to 900-1000 rpm...

    Archived Was EJS less crowded?

Which is exactly why I drove my Blazer to Moab on tires that cost more than I paid for my 1997 F150 that I would have had to tow it with. :D Which makes me think I should invest in some crappy 35's and tow my real tires behind the Blazer

    Archived Was EJS less crowded?

Wellington is an amazing place. I usually leave EJS late Saturday night and without fail there is that same cop, sitting in the same place year after year. The first time he pulled me over, I was going five under the limit. He proceeded to give me three different tickets which were all crap...

    Archived Was EJS less crowded?

Did EJS seem less crowded this year? Besides UHP, it seemed like there was less of... everything. There just wasn't as many people on the trail, in the hot tub, at the restaurants, etc... Not that that is a bad thing, but there seemed to be less excitement too. Everything seemed laid...

Archived Notice all the full size rigs in Moab?

I wheeled my K5 and my neighbor wheeled his 76 Trailduster. I put my father in law's Cherokee to shame several times. It was great. Full size = full fun. I saw that same superduty. It was a cool rig. Made me what to SAS and chop up my '97 F150.

AF city taking my front yard

Get out your zombie guns and kill 'em all or if that doesn't work: find some three hundred year old native american remains and bury them in your yard. Nothing screws up a project like running into an Indian burial site. Do what Kurt said. A little bit of research into what the real cost to...

    anybody ever wheeled a subaru?

I saw a fairly large Brat out on Hell's Revenge on Saturday. Didn't get a very close look at it, but it was enough to make me do a double take.

General Tech air down and 16.5 wheels

I observed the dodgezilla while wheeling and no beads popped off. One of the rear tires got aired down to around 10 psi by accident (the others stayed at 20) and it never came off the rim. It did Fins n Things in 2WD due to hub problems and then did Hells Revenge in 4WD till the front...

    1993 cpi 4.3 liter stumble

It's been so long I can't remember, but if that engine has a mass air flow sensor, clean it. If the filament in the MAF gets really dirty, it can cause symptoms like you described. Use brake clean or something and compressed air. Be very gentle with it though.

    1993 cpi 4.3 liter stumble

It's been a while since I messed with those, but I remember the CPI injectors being real pieces of crap. They have poppet valves at the tip of the injector that gets clogged easily. The only thing I ever had luck with (beside replacing them) was really strong injector cleaner-- not the kind...

    GMC / Chevy Blowin smoke

If it's white smoke-- check for coolant in the cylinders-- head gaskets and the like. If it's black-- you are running rich, but this would normally turn the check engine light on. If it's blueish-- you are getting oil in the combustion chamber. You can sort of tell where it's coming from by...
