Feels good that I can hook up the battery and it actually is starting to do things. Almost finished running everything and I can organize it. What everybody's preferred method? Zip ties or loom to put the wires together? I like zip ties because I can trace out a wire if I need. But these are...

Love the rig. I like things that are outside the box, and this thing definitely is. I would love to drink a beer and stare at it for awhile.

I will say that Big John's has a pretty good selection of bolts. They even have the weird ones 90% of the time. I would love to see yours sometime. Let me know if you do a trip.

This is always an exciting and frustrating part of the build. In some ways I'm so close but the details kill you. I live in the sticks so when I need a little part I have to order it. Thank goodness for the internet. I wish I had a speed shop near by for plumbing and electrical parts. Anyway...

At this point it will attach like it does from the factory, with a few bolts. Not exactly quick release, but an impact would zip it off in a couple minutes. I probably will run an aluminum skin on top if I am wheeling. The top is for cruising around or sight seeing trips.

I am running a heater but that makes sense. That's why I'm asking. I think I'm going to make some faux doors. I think I'll just get a cover for transport.

I thought about that. I don't really want a whole soft top. I really just want a window. I could get a car cover to transport it. Then I could throw it on if it did rain. Really I wanted something if I went snow wheeling that I could keep it warm inside. There may not be a good option. Just...

I welded up most everything. I will be happy to not have to take that top off a hundred more times. Starred plumbing and wiring. I have a question you guys. I did a bunch of work to run the top and doors. The scout doors are like 4 inches thick. If I run them I cant do a door bar for strength. I...

It's the Steel-it paint. They have stainless and black. It's kind of pricey but it lays down thick. Looks killer when it dries and you can weld to it without grinding. I just tried it on this chassis and I love it.

Pics of the tailshaft mount. It's mounted on bushings with the tranny mount. And dash mock up. I think I like it.

Welded up a bunch of the odds and ends. I'm to the point where I'm starting to assemble. Painted most of the chassis. I built a tailhousing mount for the atlas. Then I started laying out the wiring. Forgot to take pictures of anything cool though.

Making some slow progress. I swapped out the cam for a little bit more aggressive one. I ordered a different torque converter to match the cam and help with pushing through the brakes in low range. The torque converter didn't fit. I went to my buddy who has a transmission shop and he had the...

Looks like I should have a decent amount of steering. I will be close to 45* front and rear. I have a little more than that now but the 42's will probably cut into that a little.

I am looking into running 16" shocks instead of 14". I set the suspension up so it has 16" of droop just in case.

I got the front and rear axles mocked into place. The front looks like it is going to clear everything. At full compression it is close to the exhaust so I might Clearance the exhaust a little. I had to mock up the rear completely. Cut the tubes, weld on the c's. I made it the same as the front...

Worked on the front end some. I went wheeling with the 4runner for the last time last week. I pulled the motor and sold it and started stripping parts off fir the scout.

When I had the tub out I sprayed the underneath with Lizard Skin ceramic coating. I have heard good things about it. Wheeling in the summer is tough when it's hot out and I am baking in my rig too. Hopefully this helps. I also want the wife to go and this should help her enjoy it better...

I pulled out the tub and cleaned it up so I can put heat proofing on. I also want to paint the frame and weld the areas that are inaccessible with the tub on. It's nice to cut perfect tabs while you drink a Moscow mule
