    Tanzania continued.

We averaged seeing 12-15 lions and 1-2 leopards a day, along with tens of thousands of wildebeest and hundreds to thousands of zebra. Not as many elephant, giraffe, etc. During the time in the Serengeti we only had two cheetah sightings, but with one managed to watch a kill- amazingly fast and...

    Tanzania continued.

Around this time things got a little more interesting in camp. We were in tents in a very basic campsite (my preferred style, not just for cost reasons.) We had several nights when lions where commonly heard throughout the night- an interesting sound to be woken up to in your tent...

    Tanzania continued.

One of the highlights from the next day was being able to witness a lion take down a young wildebeest, cool to watch, hard to photograph.

    Tanzania continued.

Each day we then explored different directions from camp- the variety of scenery was interesting. From nearly treeless grasslands, to wooded hills. The main constant was absurd numbers of wildebeest. The 'Great Migration' is ongoing year round, and targeting it on its annual rotation was one...

    Tanzania continued.

Day 2 After a morning game drive in Tarangire, we started for the Serengeti. End of pavement for the next week as we headed over the Ngorongoro area (more on that later when we went into the crater on the last day.) Arrived just before dark at our camp for the next 5 nights in the area...

    Tanzania "day" 1

Spent 8 days in May with my son traveling in Tanzania. Will post up a handful of the photos, more or less in the order they happened. First stop was Tarangerie National Park- great for the standard African wildlife, fantastic for birds. Spent one night there.

    Record Snow pack, floods next?

I am not a fan of the government, but I don't think we can blame them for heavy snow and flooding. While poor planning (usually on the part of land developers) contributes to some problems, it is okay to admit somethings happen outside anyone's control.

    What are you listening to?

Last fall we had an open evening in Athens, the night after attending a Jethro Tull concert. We had found out about a Madrugada concert at Panathenaic Stadium and figured it would be a cool concert venue, even though knew nothing about them. Been a fun music find.

Bucket list trips: Do them -- 2023 Buick GS Nationals is worth it to mbryson

Agree completely. Too often bucket lists are seen as a post-retirement thing and either life span or health don't allow them to happen. Get out and do things while you are able.

Spinoff: Do your kids (or you) drive a manual transmission?

Right hand drive manual is easier than I expected.

    Record Snow pack, floods next?

Saturday I was out west of Brigham City (to the bird refugee). A lot of fields underwater but no major damage at this point (easy to say I guess when they are not my pastures.)

Spinoff: Do your kids (or you) drive a manual transmission?

I try to encourage them, but not much luck when I don't have one for them to practice in. I have pointed out that the majority of rentals I have had in other countries have been stick shifts.

    Variance's to Zoning Ordinances

I honestly can't think of any that were granted. Main reasoning general came down to impact on neighboring properties (minimal I agree in your situation.) Utility easements can also complicate things. One of biggest hurdles I think you will face will be cities are understandably hesitant to do...

    Variance's to Zoning Ordinances

From my perspective, including time serving on planning and zoning, set backs are going to be the toughest thing to get a variance on.

    What are you listening to?

A new Jethro Tull album was recently released. Have given it a couple of listens, ok but not as great as their 2022 album Zealot Gene.
