Very nice work on the wood interior Brent. Turning out great. 👍

    Clear Paint/Powder Coat

I have used automotive catalyzed urethane clear to cover over bare metal on a few items. It works well due to the chemical adhesion as long as the metal is very clean from any residue. I used windshield cleaner followed by a wax and grease remover to ensure cleanliness. The downside is that...

That is for the Rosette (plug) weld where the spindle is pressed into the axle tube for the full-float conversion.

Very nice. I also like things clean, tidy and organized. I can't seem to work in clutter or chaos.

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Continuing on with the radiator work. Gusset welded on the bottom mounting plate. Upper mounting bracket fully welded in place. He also needed a 1/4" NPT bung welded in near the upper spigot. Completed and ready for him to pick up. Thanks for looking. Mike

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I had a fellow RME forum member bring me a radiator that needed some modifying. He is using it in a custom application and needed some additional mounting tabs welded on. He had all of the tabs cut, bent as needed and marked where they needed to be welded. He had these two thin wall...

    ZMotorSports 2011 JKUR Build Thread

While I was prepping the Jeep a couple of weeks ago going over everything, rebuilding shocks, raising rear shock mounts and servicing the engine and transfer case I had one other task that I waffled on completing. I have RCV chromoly axle shafts in my front ProRock 44 axle and have had them...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I was happy to do them. Just because they didn't pencil out time wise doesn't mean that it wasn't a worthwhile job. There's always something to learn and benefit from doing just about any job. Thank you for referring him to me Jeff. I hope he's happy with them and comes back if he needs...

Yes, the Fumoto valves are nice in certain applications. I have a Fumoto valve on the Cummins ISL in my coach but don't want anything hanging any further away from the oil pan on my Jeep as it would be something to get snagged and broken. I like the GM drain plugs as they have a nice thick and...

    ZMotorSports 2011 JKUR Build Thread

Last night I racked the Jeep to give everything a good once over and change the engine oil, transfer case oil and power steering fluid. I've been in full-prep mode for our annual Ouray/Silverton trip that we take each year. Ouray/Silverton trails really torture test the Jeep and all of its...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I have been impressed with the tools and supplies that I have gotten from Delta Products. Their aluminum bridge is the same one many professional shops use and their resin and UV light are also very good quality. I can't believe how convenient having your own repair tools is. So much nicer...

    ZMotorSports 2011 JKUR Build Thread

No issues as I have proper bump stops set correctly just before shocks bottom out. That is what I spent a lot of time on two years ago after switching from 35" tires to 37's. Now both up-travel and down-travel are both optimized. My rear shocks have 10.6" of travel and I have right at 10"...
