I tried both the stock antenna and a DIAMOND SRH77CA, no luck hitting the repeater. I am about 32 miles from the repeater which is probably just too far for my radio. If I drive to Bountiful it seems to work fine.

I tried to get in again with my HT and going outside but no luck again. I can hear the conversations just fine but cannot get the repeater to hear me, may have to go for a ride next week and try again.

A little off subject but I was looking at repeaters in Utah and came across one at 145.41 that is listed as Statewide. Can someone tell me what is statewide?

There may be something about the actual location of the 94 repeater on Farnsworth compared to 62. Looking at it on Utah Ham Radio Repeaters it is a little south of 62 and may be partially blocked by something to hit my location in west Layton. 62 comes in very well and I can actually talk to...

I ran out to Lake Point today and took my HT and was able to wake up the repeater so I think my radio is setup correctly. Layton my be just too far for my HT.

Does the Tone need to set on both transmit and receive or just transmit?

I would like to get in on this also now that I have my license. Currently have a Baofeng but my have a my new Yaseu FT2-DR if they ever get off back order.

I didn't catch the cause of it not cranking over, what was it?

I have a X2Power Premium AGM Battery from BattriesPlus and it seems great. They are said to be made by NorthStar but pricing is better.
