Spent a fair amount of time pressure washing it and a few cycles of oven cleaner on some really nasty spots.
Austin "helping" lol
I had to move the x member back two bolt holes to get it to light up in the new correct spot.
I reused the 94 rubber mount. I had to wollar the holes in it a...
Pressure washed and oven cleaned off 36 years of grime from the crew cab started and retrofitting the 94 clutch master cylinder on the 84s firewall yesterday. Planning on stabbin engine this weekend.
I suggest atf because its thinner and soaked into the would faster. I've used mixtures of gear and motor oil on mine. After a good soak and wash it doesn't get onto you. My deck it 5 years old and sits in direct sun light all the time and looks brand new and all the oil was free.
Ya that heart disease statistic seamed high. Either way i believe this whole thing is blown way out of proportion. What are youse's guys's thoughts on them padding the virus death stats? I know they do this all the time with natural disasters. Die during or immediately after a natural disaster...
Year to date COVID-19 deaths in the USA: 3,800
Year to date heart disease deaths in the USA: 220,000
Let's destroy the economy to protect people that were one foot in the grave anyway....
The virus is real; the response is a scam and a power grab.
Got the new rear main seal put in and the new clutch.
Tranny got all done.
This spot face was not tapped since it was a 2wd tranny before. Its what the t case shift linkage pivots on. I tapped it out, machined a bushing to fit into the original 205 shifter, welded up the linkage...
I would say i have enough experience and thats exactly what i do. With aluminum because it dissipates the heat so quickly it takes longer to establish a good puddle, I will crank the amps way past what it actual takes to weld it just so i can quickly get a puddle going. pretty much any time i...
Drove her into the shop.
This thing has sat in my yard with the original tank of gas for the last 3 years. lol
Had to cut the siezed hitch off so i was able to shut the door and have enough room to walk in front of it. I split the tube inside the receiver with the torch so the slug should...
Waiting on a small parts kit now. One of the snap rings broke. ima get the 4 door gutted this weekend.
Got the new gm cast iron tail housing and had to clearance it for the 205 shift rail. NBD
Did smore reading on it. Sounds like there's 3 possible reasons. Stream line the production line, Fuel economy, and JIC a seal leaks. Earlier figure 8 style np205 that were bolted to autos had gear oil. 🤷♂️
You did post about them. I remember. You should have a Zmotorsports shop thread. Ive conisidered doing it for all my nonsense. It would make finding them again easier later.
If they came behind a auto then they ran atf JIC the seal leaked between the two. I douched it out while standing it up with the pto cover off with a can of brake clean. Ill be putting gear oil in this 205.
