Land Rover Project: Sexy Back: Love is in the Eye of the beholder.

Yeah. I just did a charge back on my credit card. I'm pissed. This engine was a freaking mess. Definitely not just pulled and running perfect like the seller said. That said it should be like new when it's done. It sounds good even with a blown head gasket

Land Rover Project: Sexy Back: Love is in the Eye of the beholder.

So update, The engine has a blown headgasket on the passenger side. I finally got it filled with water and got it up to operating temperature yesterday. The cooling system seemed to be getting over pressurized and then I noticed it was starting to leak water from the passenger-side...

My phone doesn't work in a lot of places I go. So that's why. Its a personal choice, its not like I'm going to have it on, unless I need it. So what if I want a sat phone or spot. Seems like a good idea if something bad happens. I do have a wife and 4 kids to take care of still. My work...

well, I think I'm going to go with a good ground tent. I'm going to get the diff. breathers, not necessary, but I like them, they look cool. I like cool things under the hood of my range rover. I'll either going to buy a fridge slide or make one. And then do some homemade drawers or some...

LAND MANAGEMENT OFFICER SHOOTS WOMAN OFF-ROADING IN BERDOO CANYON

I'm not anti-police. I have no reason to be. They haven't done anything to me ever. Maybe a speeding ticket or two, but that was my fault. 18 years ago.

LAND MANAGEMENT OFFICER SHOOTS WOMAN OFF-ROADING IN BERDOO CANYON

Generalities. Yes. I've seen BLM officers with AR15s. Why? Seems a bit (shall I say, OVERKILL) And shooting someone fleeing on an ATV seems a bit overkill. Unless they are trying to kill the officer. Then sure, I don't have an issue with protecting himself

LAND MANAGEMENT OFFICER SHOOTS WOMAN OFF-ROADING IN BERDOO CANYON

I know the article has not been updated with a lot of info. But I don't see any reason he should have shot them. Were they carrying drugs? Machine guns? Trying to run the officer over? If not, the officer needs some prison time. I don't feel like the BLM guys need to be carrying AR15's...

LAND MANAGEMENT OFFICER SHOOTS WOMAN OFF-ROADING IN BERDOO CANYON

https://kmir.com/2018/06/11/officer-shoots-off-roader/ What the hell? Says the officer shot the woman for 4 wheeling in the wrong area? Not too many details. Guess I better get a bullet-proof vest. Never know if officer friendly is going to shoot someone for being lost.

Land Rover Project: Sexy Back: Love is in the Eye of the beholder.

Radiator support and wiring is all done. Next up air intake, using a Donaldson air filter assembly. Running out of room pretty quickly under the hood. I'm going to have to do some trickery here.

I've set everything to turn off with the ignition. The only thing that will not are the running lights. But if I don't notice those on at night, that would be stupid. I'll probably add a third battery in the back for the fridge. We will see though. I'm not sure I really want 3 batteries...

One thing I've done, is get an inflatable backpacking mattress, a cot, pillow and a good sleeping bag. They work great if your tent is large enough. I sleep really well with a gun under my pillow. But my tent is an old coleman tent I've used for years. Its worn out and I need something...

Sometimes you just want cool things. Like guns, knives, tires and diff breathers. :D I have some homemade ones as well, I ran them into the old engines air filter, but now that I have a turbo, I'd have to redo everything anyway. ha ha.

I have a lot of equipment that I've been using for a long time. Some of its great. Some of it I want to upgrade. I don't need lots of stuff, just to have stuff. I want better stuff to make the trips more enjoyable. I'll look into HAM or maybe a spot device. They have some pretty cool...

I also need a good complete cheap tool set. Because I hate taking all my tools out of my tool box when I take a longer trip. Pain in the Arse. Then I have to put them all away when I get home. And if I'm really lucky I won't loose any when my friends truck breaks and we have to fix it. So...

The only reason for the phone, is emergencies. Really and truly. I use it for pictures and that's it when I'm out wheeling. Last year when I was down in the Swell, the sewer backed up into the house. My wife was freaked out, but handled it. When I got home I rented a tool from Home-depot...

So, I've been really looking at making my Range Rover more reliable and better for longer off-road trips. Hence the Diesel conversion and using a GM transmission and Dodge transfercase. Strong and reliable compared to the old stuff. I don't need all the stuff these other guys have. Lets face...

How is the Land Cruiser? Are you here in the Salt Lake Area? I'd love to take a look at it. What did you end up paying for it, if you don't mind me asking?
