I'd still like to help and my offer to be there with my 40 ft box truck still stands but I'm going to be in DC from Saturday tilll Sunday. Guess that doesn't help much does it?

Looks like I might have a new pet

Man, that thing's cute. I want it....but I don't think it'd go well in my apartment. Maybe I should move home? I don't think mom would mind a new pet....hehehe.

Looks like I might have a new pet

Yeah, you're suposed to have a permit but that shouldn't be hard for a person with your connections to get. Ryan's dad has one for a pet, it's domesticated and more civil than a dog. I'm on my way over.

hehehe, you inspired me mark. They work awesome. Had to swap some springs from the front pack to the rear to make it sit level. It worked out pretty good though.

MY spring-over (pics) and tech Q's?

So what is correct castor? How's the best way to set it? With a angle finder on the pinion? The traction bar's on the way. I just forgot to put it in the long list of things it still needs.

MY spring-over (pics) and tech Q's?

Definitely, it only took about 2 hours to do. Took longer to find the parts.

MY spring-over (pics) and tech Q's?

I had to mount them pretty far back. That was just to mock the rear suspension though. I now have some bushings welded to the rear underside of my bumper for a little better angle on the shackles. You can kinda see it in the last picture. I'm sure I'm going to hit a lot of rocks with them.

MY spring-over (pics) and tech Q's?

I'm stretched out to 101.5 inches now on the wheelbase, and raised up to what I estimate about 5 inches of lift. The front is going to get pushed forward 1.5 inches more next week. I haven't flexed it yet but the springs are super squishy so I expect it'll do pretty well. Now, here's my...

Adding acetone to your gas can help increase mileage.

So I ran another tank without it just to convince myself it really did work and I'm just about out and at 165 miles on this tank.

    Leaky transfer case

Yeah, if it was either the output or input shaft seals you won't have to split the case that's pretty easy.

    Lengthening driveshafts

    Who did it for you?

    Leaky transfer case

There's only one thing you can do. Remove the T-case, split the case, clean and silicone the seam and replace the output shaft seal. It's really not as much work as it sounds but you should have someone who's done it before with you in case you run into something unexpected.

    Lengthening driveshafts

Ouch! I think Six States might be one of the more expensive driveline shops. Slyco and GRS are probably a lot cheaper. I haven't priced the work yet, just checking out my options.

    Lengthening driveshafts

Well Dave both my driveshafts are the double cardan style and I'd like to not lose that so I think I'm going to have to have them lengthened. I'm not sure how long they need to be, I'll take measurements tonight.

    Leaf spring question

Hmmm...well, I guess I'll have to drive on them first. I've only bounced on them and comparatively to the XJ rears that are on the rear they're much stiffer (of course). I'm betting my little 4 cyl wrangler is much lighter than the V8's you've got.
