    Chevy brake issue

I was just talking to my son about this as a possible issue.

    Chevy brake issue

I am trying to fix a brake problem on the old suburban project. This is one of the reasons I got the old project back because they spent a bunch of money on trying to fix the issue. I haven't started to dig in too far yet but the brake pedal is very soft for the first half of the travel then...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

These are the tranny/transfer case mounts from the old Suburban project I have been working on. I can't imagine driving around with mounts like these.

General Tech What did you work on Today?

I got back an old project that I built for my father who is now 91 and not able/willing to fix stuff anymore. It's a K20 Suburban that I created for my parents quite a few years ago. My Dad bought an old 78 Suburban that looked good but after one winter the cheap paint job started to fall off...

Is it ok to have a "make light of" thread?

I saw this ad and wish I had the converter mentioned. Many times after a bouncy off road ride I wished I could switch modes and have a nice ride home. Great little 5 speed jeep. Perfect for a teenager or college student does need some work. Runs great! *No Cadillac converter

    LS swap transmission shift points

I'll have to get back with him

    LS swap transmission shift points

The LS swap in my Scrambler has been running well but the transmission shift points seem a bit off. I've been reading up on how they control the shift points and found that the main controls used for the shifts are the TPS output and the vehicle speed. I realized that I never told the tuner that...

Jeep LS swap for the LJ

I like to measure O2 sensors with my oscilloscope since the output is basically a square wave of varying period. I have several scopes if you want to borrow one. You could measure the 5V at the computer and at the sensor and see if the error is the same at both ends of the wire.

    Jeep CJ5 seats issues

Maybe I should steal the seats out of the grandkids go-cart.

    Jeep CJ5 seats issues

Thanks for the offer it would be good to see how much thinner they are. The 72 uses a different mounting bracket than the 76-86 CJs, it's a bar that goes from side to side with tabs that mount the seat. I modified the mounts (moved the tabs) for the seats that are in there now so it would be...

    Jeep CJ5 seats issues

That would have been good to see what you did. I think I would still need a thinner seat as the Dodge seats will hit the cage if it goes back too far.

    Jeep CJ5 seats issues

A few years back I fixed up an old 72 CJ5 for a friend of mine that had been out in his field for 30 years. The seats in it were shot so I found some Dodge van seats that I thought were nice. The problem is they are too thick and the only people that can drive the Jeep are short skinny people...

    The Coffee thread

As a teenager I had to sweep the school next door and part of cleaning was dumping the coffee grounds from the faculty lounge. I got to HATE the smell of the stuff and still do.

    Hunting Season Opened for us

I only have one picture, I would have to get more from my kids. This is the really nice one that my grandson got. He's quite proud of his first Utah deer.

    Hunting Season Opened for us

Our hunting season has gone well for us. I've managed some grouse and helped the kids with filling their muzzleloader tags. We had a chance to go on private land for the bow hunt and part of the muzzleloader hunt but the kids had to contend with way too many cows and they didn't see anything...

    DOM prices

I did a quick price search on some DOM in my garage that my son picked up thinking he was getting 2x1/4 wall. He ended up getting 2x5/16 wall and the prices I found were $26-32/foot, yikes. Now if he could just find someone who needs it.

Off Road Lighting - Mixing Different Gauge Wires

I understood what you were saying and was agreeing with your recommendation.

Off Road Lighting - Mixing Different Gauge Wires

You need to protect each circuit with their own fuse. If you feed a heavy line up then split to smaller gauge wires without a fuse you could get a short in one of the smaller gauge circuits that might not blow the big fuse. This could lead to frying the wire and a fire. Do what xjtony said.

    DOM prices

Maybe I should tell my kids to sell some of the pieces in my garage.
