Body bushings allow movement between the body and frame. If your cage is completely solid, it would destroy the body metal around the cage plates.

It's the threads on the tapered rod end, not the adjustment sleeve... not sure how a lathe would help. I've basically decided to replace it for piece of mind. (yes, I know that is not the right piece... thats just how I feel about the brain damage I've caused myself.

Somewhere between removal and reinstallation, the threads on my 3/4 ton dodge TRE are messed up.... and it's the long side (the expensive side). Even if I can track down a die for the threads, am I going to be able to hold the end still enough to clean the threads? Should I just suck it...

You are going to be illegal and most likely fail inspection either way, so why not live with the light till you can replace the cat? The downstream doesn't affect air/fuel as far as I know.

It's a drag to see this. I'd love an H1 Alpha for a tow rig, I'd take an H2, and I test drove an H3 and thought seriously about it last year. It's sad also to see all the hate. Hate the vehicle... you have no idea what the owner does with it, just like every suburban and cummins ram you see...
