IF the thorley headers are the same ones I looked at for my 5.9 they have a 3/8 thick flange, so they should be pretty beefy. I'd run copper and stainless header gaskets as well. I ran coppers on everything I've owned in recent years that had headers, and with a locking bolt set, I never lost...

I'm also considering using cables... From some other searching I've done, it seems to work well for ZJs. It also seems a heck of a lot stronger than ghetto straps, and significantly cheaper than retail.

This might be completely retarded, but I figured I'd ask. I don't like the idea of spending $40+ on a limiting strap that looks to be about three times more heavy duty than it needs to be. It strikes me that your straps would need co carry the weight of the axle assembly and tires, and no much...

Great point Greg... I don't think I thought it all the way through, but your right.. it would need to ride stiff. I passed on the truck for a load of reasons (the apparent abuse of the suspension, trans slipping at 10k, high EGTs and most importantly threats of castration and or divorce). Now...

Yeah... I thought about that, but the thing only had 10K on it, and 5k on the Carli kit. It also rode REALLY stiff. I kind of expected more from such a top end manufacturer, and a softer ride from something pre-runner designed. Maybe it was just a bad truck all around, and somehow infected...

I test drove a mega cab with the Carli 3.0 kit on it. It wander, clunked and generally drove like poo. The tuck had been driven hard, but not jumped, and only saw maintained dirt roads. I was pretty disappointed with the Carli setup... lots of wander, and VERY noisy. I'd look elsewhere, IMO...

I finally weighed in, and was a little surprised. I've lost 31 pounds since September 1st. I've also turned it up a few notches in the gym. I'll see how thanksgiving goes... Hopefully I can keep out of the potatoes and not do too much damage.

Update: Magnaflow GOOD. I was able to get the full exhaust back in using the magnaflow muffler. I ran it all the way back, and capped it with my OEM 5.9 limited tip. On startup I was kind of frustrated... it was really loud. it was running at high idle from being off all day and cold, but...

I found a set of front springs today while I was looking for some other parts. They should be pretty close to 3.5-4" based on standing them next to my RE 4.5" coils. PM me if interested.
