Installing a locker on my 4runner

This is true on the 8 inch dif found in the mini trucks, unfortunately that doesn't work on the 8.4 rear end. You need to swap the whole axle, but it is still a good option. Other than that if you are mainly street driving I would go with the ARB because of selectability. Another thing...

You can get them from TRD Parts 4 U http://www.toyotaoffroadoutfitters.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=1548 I don't know how this price matches out, because I never seriously looked into it, but at least it is a start...

Why has your U4WDA membership expired?

I'm glad this thread was brought up. I have been watching this closely and hesitated to say anything until others (current and former BOD members) spoke their mind. It has come down to what the U4 if anything is currently doing. If in fact the U4 is not about saving access to public lands...

    Which would you choose?

It doesn't seem sketchy or fishy to me... The only real service it needs is the Timing belt around 90k. Plus IIRC the tacoma owners manual recommends changing the oil every 5k miles so every 3k it should be good. I tend to do it every 3k anyways because it sees more off-road time...

    Which would you choose?

I have a Tacoma with the 3.4 and I think it is one of the best engines out there, and with the timing belt just done, I wouldn't worry about it. As long as it all checks out and wasn't abused you should be fine. I think the toyota will have the most aftermarket support and may even come with a...

Hypothetical situation (friend is a car thief)

While I was browsing through KSL earlier I came accross this... http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=148&sid=6465303 I immediately knew who it is... SAMI has no alibi, and I just about turned him in, but I don't want to be that friend... What would you do? Compare these two pictures... Am I...

    Toyota Best Tacoma lift (2003)?

I picked up the OME Heavy kit from Kurt and I have loved it! I am definitely not easy on it and it has been great. I thought about coilovers, but I hear the Utah salt will tear them up pretty quick.

Checker HID lights... how are they holding up?

They are definitely more expensive than a lot of the other halogen or filament lights, but when you compare them to HID they are a steal! I really like that the are very bright but only draw 35 Watts as opposed to 50 - 100 Watt for normal lights.

Checker HID lights... how are they holding up?

Nope. They are sold separately. ~$100 a piece or ~$200 per pair.

Checker HID lights... how are they holding up?

Just to keep everything updated, I did experience a problem with one of these lights. The whole housing was cracking from the base up. I think it could have been from vibrations, but it only happened on one of the lights. It was likely due to poor construction of the molded plastic. I took it to...
