    help with 3 link calculations

Here's what I would start with: As far as your anti-squat, I think anywhere near 100% is crazy high. First thing I would do is lower your ride height if at all possible. Then drop your lower link frame mounts a couple of inches, the handling improvements would be worth the loss in ground...

Questions on Converting Street Legal Dune Buggy into Crawler

Hell yeah! I've seen some licensed manx's that don't get hassled for rockin' around town on 35's. :greg: To get away with it you probably wouldn't wanna push it any bigger than 35", and you would want to keep it on the lower side. But I think it could totally be done, register it with the...

    5 point harness???

Hooker Harness will be making my new belts for sure! While the ratcheting lap belts are awesome, I think I'll just get their standard harness. Also, whatever you buy, avoid all Impact brand products. They just got busted for making fake SFI tags and putting them on their products.

Bonneville Off Road Racing 2010 Schedule

First race of the year is coming up in just a little over a month, I'm soo stoked! We have a great turnout so far on the "Intend to Race" list. UTVs have easily become our largest class; when I checked the list a week or two ago there were already 13 people signed up in UTV. That's gonna be...

Jeep 2.0 Emulsion Shocks for my ZJ....

In my opinion, the shock isn't the real issue (even though Ranchos blow goats). 3" of uptravel is just to little. Yes you can bandaid it with a overly valved shock, but it's not a fix, merely a mask. I've used the same theory a few times before, and yes, it does keep you off your bumps a...

    toyota axle build up

Sweet axle Robby! I need to do something like that for my poor bent 84 front end. You thinkin' about coming to the BORR Wendover race this May 1? If want to and need any help gettin' the rig ready let me know!

    lockright or leave it open

Keep in mind your steering is going to seriously suck unless you upgrade to at least hydro assist. I personally wouldn't even consider a locker up front unless you're doing some steering upgrades at the same time. When I locked up my front and rear, it took about 37 seconds of driving...

anyone have an opinion on 5.13's v. 4.88's?

I'm noticing a theme here, people rarely regret going too low, but often regret not going lower while they were throwing the same amount of money at it.

    Welding Classes

Agreed! MIG is so easy it can be dangerous in the hands of the inexperienced. I have seen "professional" fabricators lay down beautiful beads with MIG, that were absolutely worthless because of contamination, lack of penetration/fusion, etc. I started my welding education with the DATC's...

    Places for cage installation

We race in BITD and know how to make a cage meet all the rules. Remember that they are very particular about vehicle weight ranges requiring certain diameters and wall thicknesses, and the design is critical too. Give me a call and I'll chat with you about it if you're interested, I'll PM you...

    whos got it? chromoly

We carry pretty much every common diameter and wall thickness of 4130N tubing. From 3/4" x .065" up to 2" x .120", and most everything in between. We also have 4130N plate in stock, in 1/8", 3/16", and 1/4" I think we only have a couple sticks of 1.5x.095 at the moment. I can't say for...

anyone have an opinion on 5.13's v. 4.88's?

My vote is to go low. I love my 5.86s and 42s. The only downside is that with the T400 I was limited to under 70 mph, but that's pretty darn fast on big unbalanced fortydueces.

    Hydro EVERYTHING...

I have setup a couple isolated dual pump systems like you're talking about. The reason we went that route is that you always run the pressure line from the pump to the hydroboost first, since brakes are the most important system on any vehicle, and then to the steering. This gives your brakes...

    4 link headaches

I would bring your AS down if you can. I like it low, it reduces the likelyhood of axle hop as you go through traction changes under torque application. I think you have plenty of triangulation in that design. A stock 60 front, 70 rear, and 14B rear each weigh in around 550#. I would...

Bonneville Off Road Racing 2010 Schedule

Lol. I believe the plan is to run some kind of ~50 mile figure 8, with the main pit in the center, so you will hit the main pit about every 25 miles. Don't quote me on that exact number, but that's one idea being tossed around. At least that doesn't leave you too far out in BFE if your body...
