IIRC it was 100 miles for the bikes. Some want a little more, some have asked for a little less, that seems to be the happy medium. How many would you like? I'll mention your input at our next meeting. :)

This year we are bringing back payback btw, and it's the highest percentage of any desert racing organizations as far as I know. We had so many racers say they would rather bump the entry fees up a little and bring back payback, so here it is! :) There are also bike, quad, and UTV classes...

Where did you find that? The leader board they have up still only shows that the first 5 people hit all 20 checkpoints. Was checkpoint 15 the finish and the rest were bonus or what? :confused:

IMO the course is fine. That 5% shows that it's possible, just very difficult. With a very hard course like that it makes it not all about speed, but finishing. Anyone can drive fast, but to have that rare combination of vehicle preparation, speed, and enough restraint to keep the car...

Local crawler/racer Carl Nielson placed better than more than half of the racers in KOH 2010! He placed 48th out of 102 racers. I don't have any information on what happened to take him out of the race, but considering that only 5 of 102 people even finished the race, he deserves a huge...

Even with the hubs factored in, a lockrighted front end blows goats to turn unless you have at least hydro assist. Personally it's not even a question, either lock the rear only, or do both AND upgrade your steering. BTW I own an 84 toy that's welded front and rear, with hydro assist and...

Imo, if you can only run one, put it in the rear. Locking the front is so hard on shafts, joints, steering components, etc. If it was a daily driver with selectable hubs, there would be a little more of a case to lock the front only, but since you said it's mostly a crawler, the minor handling...

Ya, but while I was boxing the frame, the tub was sitting outside and some tweakers stole the it. The scrappers were probably pissed when they realized there was more weight in bondo than sheet metal, but I bet I was still more pissed. All that's left of it now is the grill, hood, tailgate...
