Bonneville Off Road Racing 2010 Schedule

IIRC it was 100 miles for the bikes. Some want a little more, some have asked for a little less, that seems to be the happy medium. How many would you like? I'll mention your input at our next meeting. :)

Congrats to Carl Nielson for an awesome job at KOH!!!

Not sure if you're speaking to me or someone else, but of course I'm not mad. I'm just curious where to find the updated info because the list posted on pirate doesn't make a lot of sense. Anyone know where to find the ammended list?

    Why did the Atlas blow?

Sucky! What type of oil was in it? Probably doesn't really matter since Milner's post explains it.

Bonneville Off Road Racing 2010 Schedule

This year we are bringing back payback btw, and it's the highest percentage of any desert racing organizations as far as I know. We had so many racers say they would rather bump the entry fees up a little and bring back payback, so here it is! :) There are also bike, quad, and UTV classes...

Congrats to Carl Nielson for an awesome job at KOH!!!

Where did you find that? The leader board they have up still only shows that the first 5 people hit all 20 checkpoints. Was checkpoint 15 the finish and the rest were bonus or what?

Congrats to Carl Nielson for an awesome job at KOH!!!

Pirate is the only place with coverage so far. Even the official KOH site didn't have anything useful yet. I can't wait to see how Carl and all the other locals do in BOR this year!

Congrats to Carl Nielson for an awesome job at KOH!!!

Attrition rate at last years Parker 425 was over 75% The list on pirate shows that only the first 5 hit all 20 checkpoints. Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but that's what pirate is reporting. Copy/paste... 2010 KOH Scoring Summary - Page 1 of 4 Position Car Driver Name Last CP Last...

Congrats to Carl Nielson for an awesome job at KOH!!!

IMO the course is fine. That 5% shows that it's possible, just very difficult. With a very hard course like that it makes it not all about speed, but finishing. Anyone can drive fast, but to have that rare combination of vehicle preparation, speed, and enough restraint to keep the car...

Congrats to Carl Nielson for an awesome job at KOH!!!

Local crawler/racer Carl Nielson placed better than more than half of the racers in KOH 2010! He placed 48th out of 102 racers. I don't have any information on what happened to take him out of the race, but considering that only 5 of 102 people even finished the race, he deserves a huge...

Bonneville Off Road Racing 2010 Schedule

We just changed the date for the Jackpot race. It was supposed to be a night race, but the BLM just informed us that night racing could have negative effects on the foraging habits of the local bat population. I wish that was a joke, but we are working on making another one of...

    General Tech Locker Poll

Even with the hubs factored in, a lockrighted front end blows goats to turn unless you have at least hydro assist. Personally it's not even a question, either lock the rear only, or do both AND upgrade your steering. BTW I own an 84 toy that's welded front and rear, with hydro assist and...

    General Tech Locker Poll

Imo, if you can only run one, put it in the rear. Locking the front is so hard on shafts, joints, steering components, etc. If it was a daily driver with selectable hubs, there would be a little more of a case to lock the front only, but since you said it's mostly a crawler, the minor handling...

Bonneville Off Road Racing 2010 Schedule

BOR has released the 2010 race schedule! For those of you who were able to participate in last years Wendover 250 in our new 4400 (rockcrawler) class, those who want to race this year, and those of you who want to see some desert racing up close and personal! As always, it's totally free to...

So how much clearance is high clearance?

No shocks yet, or winches for that matter, but I am building it at full compression. It's uber-lowrider, I've managed to get it to sit so low that top of the front tires are about 2" above the top of the hood. :eek2: Build thread on the way, within' a week or two probably.

    Jeep Willys ground-up build

Ya, but while I was boxing the frame, the tub was sitting outside and some tweakers stole the it. The scrappers were probably pissed when they realized there was more weight in bondo than sheet metal, but I bet I was still more pissed. All that's left of it now is the grill, hood, tailgate...

MD Motorsports #1699 Big Dog build

Sorry about the lack of updates! This thing should be done either tomorrow or Thursday. Don has been a busy bee getting the wiring and back up to race standards.
