Zip Locker Install- Where to go from here?

Thanks for the suggestions. Come to find out my calipers were inconsistent and changing measurements as much as .010 at times. I ended up having more room to work with than I had originally thought. Side note, I’m needing new calipers. I like the Mitutoyo’s I used at a previous job. Any other...

Zip Locker Install- Where to go from here?

All I have is the markings on the front of the pinion. I spun the ring gear around several times last night looking for any markings or numbers, and did not find anything.

Zip Locker Install- Where to go from here?

Thanks for the responses. As far as I am understanding from the Motive Gear website the XF suffix designated thick gear vs the X suffix is a thin gear. I’ve attached a screenshot. I measured the deck height this morning and it’s checks out at 2.24”. I could not find an explanation online this...

Zip Locker Install- Where to go from here?

Hello, I am needing some help. I am not sure what my next step should be. Context: I'm in the process of removing an Eaton E-Locker and installing a Yukon Zip locker into a Currie 60 (Rockjock 60). Below are the specs of the parts being used, as well as current setup measurements as outlined...

Plan is to have rear only. The push pull would be utilized L/R, in my mind anyways. Im running a Detroit in the front so, there have been no plans to do it to the front.

I am planning to do cutting brakes at the same time as the axle swap. I'm intrigued by the idea of a push/pull cutting brake, but not married to the idea. What are others using? Any considerations to keep in mind?

Thanks for the perspective with the pressure switch. @UNSTUCK, I like the idea of the regulator. Hadn't given that thought. I'll dig into that deeper. I've now just about sold all the old drivetrain components, which is a relief. I had to sit on some of the parts longer than anticipated. It...

Glad to hear others have had good experience with them. Dustin mentioned getting a compressor pressure switch that will shut the compressor off at a higher psi. I want to say he said to go with a 120-150 pressure switch. Have either of you done this?

Been wheeling the TJ as it sits for a couple years now with anticipation of eventually going tons and 40’s. The opportunity arose sooner than anticipated. Scooped up a pair of Currie 60’s off a JK. They’re JK width, 5.38’s, Detroit Front, Elocker rear, and semi float. Some might raise an...

Here's my SCX24 JLU. Myself, my 2 boys, and a bunch of wheeling buddies have variants of these 1:24 scale rigs and we meet up on the monthly to compete against each other. I welded up a trophy that gets passed around to the winner of each monthly event. The center post is an old Atlas...

GenRight Vented Power Steering Pulley Install & Test

Got this cool little piece from a friend a few weeks ago and decided to install it today. GR offers them in blue and red anodizing. I'm glad the one I got was blue. Considering my previous experience with anodized aluminum, it didn't take much time, even when not in UV light for red items to...

    WJ knuckles on a TJ

Do you happen to know which calipers you have? (Teves or Akebono) Supposedly the Teves calipers are more compliant with 15" wheels, but are the less desirable caliper. Something to consider if nothing else.

    High School TJ build

You'll love rear suspension changes. It has been one of the more favorite changes to my TJ. Sounds like you are well on your way with collecting hardware, but here is what I used, hopefully it can give you some ideas/direction: Genright Rear Frame 4 link Bracket Barnes 4wd Truss Barnes 4wd 20...

Finished the build to the point where it was drivable. Filled up the tank and drove it from Payson to Little Moab. I am stoked with how it turned out. Wheelbase ended up at 101.5". Love how it feels on the rocks, no hopping, feels planted, and seems stable so far on the steep stuff. Just a...
