    annual EJS rumors

RR4W have NO authority nor do they want the authority to give citations for ANYTHING. We are there only to advise / recommend that those who want to use that trail can do so after the REGISTERED group has returned to he point of entry. They will be given a list of alternative trails they may...

    Intresting read...

I did not mean to imply that marking the trails was a bad thing. I only meant that it's speeded up the process of trail over-use and abuse. Trail marking is also a good thing in regards to Search & Rescue not having to deal with as many stranded people not knowing where they are. No matter...

    Intresting read...

I've lived in Moab for about 15 years. Wheelin' is what brought me here. The deterioration of some of the trails is consistant with the amout of traffic it receives. I first started coming to Moab in the mid '80s. Trails like Hell's Revenge, Fins 'N Things and others had to be learned, as no...

Take a ride in the way back machine.

Tan Man doesn't live in that neighborhood anymore, so it can't be the water. I talked with John a few days ago about the Jeep. I'd consider buying it back for about 1/3 of his asking price.

Take a ride in the way back machine.

This ain't Moab, but this is how I started with the Jeep thing. I had this '46 CJ-2A for 30 years and traded it (straight accross) for Burgerburners CJ-7 about 12 years ago. Jurassic Park sure brings back memories too!

Take a ride in the way back machine.

Tim, I haven't seen Tan Man for a while. I usually see him at C.M. and he's still sad about Wilma's passing. He sounds pretty lonely. I've offered to pick him up and go wheeling, but he doesn't seem to be interested in much of anything. Is that senario sounding familiar?????

Take a ride in the way back machine.

How many Jeeps do you know that have unpainted, NO grease build up, NO rust on metal parts like this one. (click on the picture for a close-up) Only Ber Knight! Looking at the previous pictures, it's plain to see that his CJ is unchanged in 20 years! Not to mention he has aged gracefully as...

Take a ride in the way back machine.

I noticed BurgerBurner at the Barn in the very back. I think 86 was my first year there. Also I noticed how Ber's CJ has NOT changed a bit other than some new tires! A few months ago we went out with Ber and I noticed how shiney the underside of his CJ was. Not a sign of grease build up or...

    I'm a web wheeler

Roadability and reliability are at the top of the list for sure. Would a trip to the Swell be something you'd like to consider? We did a trip with Ber a few months ago. Out by Sinbad and Eagle Canyon. Nice country.

    I'm a web wheeler

Damn.... where are your minds!!! How many times have you watched Brokeback (or is Humpback) Mountain anyway??? So where are you staying when you get to town? At the same campground you were at last year? Don't know how many days I can wheel, but I'll lie my way out of as many jobs as I...

    I'm a web wheeler

Hey Tim... what days are you going to be in Moab? Love to do some "sploring" with you. Maybe Bob will come out of his shell???? Suppose Guy will be down early as usual. Maybe a threesom would work? Good to hear from you! Will Karen be here?

    Strike Ravine

The Moab Times Independent has a piece about Strike Ravine. However, I think you have to subscribe to the paper in order to view the articles. Basically, it said that SITLA will not be a part of the ongoing litigation and that no matter what the judge decides regarding the appeal, the loosing...

    Pritchett Canyon - Please Read!

Those that don’t want to change ANY aspect of the trail are not thinking realistically. If the canyon “deteriorates” to the level of ONLY (beyond) extreme vehicles can navigate, only 1 of 2 scenarios WILL eventually happen. It will become an exclusive elitist trail that cannot be monitored...

    Pritchett Canyon - Please Read!

Pritchett “road” was constructed in the mid 60’s. BLM supervised the construction of the road with intentions of it being used from Hunter Canyon to the mouth of Pritchett Canyon as a means of a “shortcut” back to Moab during the mineral exploration days. “Babe” Foy was the cat skinner who...

    Rose Garden Hill

Rose Garden Hill is a part of Top Of The World EJS trail. About a year ago we sat in at a meeting with BLM and some aquatic biologists. They presented a case where the stream temperature showed signs of haven risen by 1 or 2 degrees since they first started monitoring it (when ever that was!)...

    question about porcupine rim trail?

Porcupine Rim does not connect with any other trail for a 4x4. A bike route loops and connects with Hwy 128 at the mouth of Negro Bill Canyon. It is a single track only beyond the Porcupine Rim overlook. However, you can take some other trails to some overlooks once you're on top. The trail...

Some questions and observations. Any answers?

Sitting back on the sidelines for the last few days reading the various posts of this tread, It is appearing to look like similar issues that the skiers vs. snowboarders have . They love the same sport, use similar equipment and use the same real estate, but have very different views on usage...

Utah Trail Patrol - Join Now!

Hey Todd! Of all places that could use that type of "patrolling", Moab should definately be on the list for volunteers. I remember your post from several months ago but it didn't seem to have received a lot of attention. Hope something could be initiated here. Marty Avalos
