They only way the FI will make it run hot is if it is running to lean. And not as hot as you described. Does it have a cat on it? If so, I suspect it my be clogged. That will cause the high temps you describe.

I hate to say search....But I have outlined things to look at/trouble shoot at least a few times on here.... It all comes down to redundant grounds, and wiring the pump independent of the projection harness.
