General Tech Opinion on best fab shop to build aluminum fuel tank

I use a Miller Dynasty 200 DX now. For the last 2 years or so I've been using an Everlast (Chinasty) 200DX. It's a great AC/DC tig thats 1/3 the price as a dynasty, which is essentially the same thing. I going to put it up for sale soon since it's just been sitting.

I can CAD design a tank to suit your needs. I'm in Orem. Here's pics of some of my work www.UtahWeld.com

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Aluminum intake pipe for a twin turbo Corvette I've been working on.

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Put together a working prototype of a PWM DC motor speed controller (heater controller, etc.) that I designed. Tested to 80 amps using a single mosfet transsitor, and the waveforms still look awesome :D

    Concrete bolt anchors

They're called wedge anchors, they are insanely strong. Best to use an impact type gun to really seat them.

    cell phones??

I've been holding off, but I finally got a smart phone and it really is way more useful than a regular phone. I use it to check my email, find addresses with the gps map program, ebay, pandora, etc. My main criteria was that it's small so I can carry it in my pocket everywhere I go, and not...

Ahhh ha ha ha ha ha this is hilarious!

Each generation has been a stepping stone to what the corvette is today. Nobody can just make the perfect car on their first try, even after companies such as GM have made enormous strides towards figuring this stuff out and laid the groundwork FOR them. Any new car company today would be...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Today I put together some more battery mounting boxes that I CAD designed. They're going to be used on experimental aircraft from what I understand, so they need to be reasonably lightweight. They weigh under 7 ounces and rigidly hold a battery that weighs 8 pounds. Carl (Ilean) CNC plasma cut...

General Tech What did you work on Today?

Did some sanitary stainless today after work. Had to replace the bottom of a funnel used in commercial food packaging... in time for a USDA inspection lol Purging the inside with argon before TIG welding. The old outlet that was removed (wtf?), it's like a free hotel for bacterial growth...

The PAVEMENT thread: Cars, Racing, Drives, Speed...

I was contracted to redo the piping for a small aircraft turbo kit which was originally done by Turbolabs. Can't say I've ever seen anything quite like it before. It was very expensive too.

    overdriving my power steering pump

The factory setup wouldn't be bypassing at low rpms though, where you'd want more pressure for wheeling. A smaller pulley should do the trick and still bypass at a safe pressure.

    Building a 15,000 lumen flashlight

Well crap... if everyone's following this now I'll have to finish it. To be at all useful this thing needs to have more than one output level. I've been thinking about leaving a knob on it that will infinitely adjust the output power, yet be limited to the rated 'full power' when cranked all the...

    Building a 15,000 lumen flashlight

not really sure why... So a typical 65w halogen car hi beam is around 1700 lumens of light output. This flashlight will be 150w of high efficiency LED, spewing forth 15,000 lumens of white light. The plan originally was to make an offroad driving light, so I got this ridiculous flashlight that...

    PGF Precision Guided Firearms

You paint the target with the laser and lock it in, then you hold the trigger and when the gun is aimed in just the right spot to account for ballistics and atmospherics, the trigger is automatically released... so there's really too much to do.
